Changelog:
– Fixes to ritual system for achieving the Gateway

– Religions should now be accessible! The newest update changed how folders were managed so it was an easier fix….I’ve been working on a coding companion so it should make fixing things down the line a lot easier.
Adds the Mythos religions into the game under their own independent faith groups:
– Hasturian (King in Yellow, Kaiwan followers)
– Deep Ones (Esoteric Order of Dagon, Cthulhu Cult)
– Outer Gods (Nyarlahotep Cult, Azathoth, Congregation of the Earth Mother, Cult of Tsathoggua.)
– Sothothian (Carterist, Yog-Sothoth, & Shining Tetrahedron)
Mythos faiths are generally more permissive in their doctrines and more connected to the occult than mainstream religions, and many of them see insanity as a good thing.
Players can use a one-off decision to change their capital’s faith. This should put conversion within reach, though some characters will need some more effort than others to gather up the piety.
=== Special Mechanics ===
Cults that embrace madness (Cthulhu, Azathoth, The King in Yellow, Nyarlathotep):
– Delve deeply into the holy texts and become a lunatic. Small chance of other benefits.
– Make a sacrifice to the Outer God’s after gaining enough knowledge*; it’s currently scripted so you can select what you want to offer! A prisoner, someone important among your court, your blood, or even gold…
(CURRENTLY FIXED! I Forgot to put the scripted effects in the events mb)
– Lifestyles* have been introduced! Currently there are the three base one’s (Spider, Goat, and Deep) from the companion mod but there’s also a chaos tree that has been implemented. I likely will implement more down the line for other deities.
But the current requirements to have it be available is having the lunatic trait or being one from one of the specific religious families (to allow people who might make their own mythos faith to pursue still have it. Or those who have the opposite madness tenet)
Cult of Azathoth:
– Visit the reclusive Shans by taking a special decision and spending the evening in the only Temple dedicated to Azathoth on Earth!
Esoteric Order of Dagon:
– Fulfill the ancient Covenant by spending your wedding night with a sea monster rather than your wife. (Or, when playing as a woman, react to your husband’s plans to do so.)
– Hybrid children start out only slightly weird, but get progressively worse over time if they live long enough.
– Combine with a breeding program to get to the highest level and enjoy immortality, so long as you don’t have a nervous breakdown force you to leave the surface world forever.
Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign:
(No new updates atm, other than some broken events but otherwise it SHOULD be fully playable. Probably just going to work some stuff into a Yellow Sign lifestyle tree available solely to Yellow Sign devotees.)
– Proclaim the restoration of the Kingdom of Carcosa and lead your brethren to new victories.
– Champion your right to rule with the Bearer of the Yellow Sign trait! (At a cost . . .)
– Petition the King in Yellow and have him decide who should become your next yellow sign bearer by bestowing on them the Tattered Heir trait, a sullen mark but one that distinguishes your heir amongst the other Carcosan nobility.
– Restore Carcosan culture after proclaiming the Kingdom’s restoration! Children born in this culture are more likely to get the Blood of Carcosa but also Bearers of the Yellow Sign pass on the blood trait to their children (or at least should!) And welcome the new Carcosan Mysteries tradition!
Cult of Nyarlathotep:
– Dedicate yourself to a specific god or an aspect of Nyarlathotep for extra bonuses.
– Go down the path of chaos and eventually become blessed by Nyarlathotep with immortality! (Shares the Undying trait until I can think of a better reward for his lifestyle tree.)
Cult of Cthulhu:
– Try the Cthulhu Cult and carve out a mythos stronghold in the East! Got a little ambitious at first but I scrapped the idea of baking a whole new government and settled on making the faith temporal
– Why WOULDN’T the religious head of a Cult of Cthulhu have monstrous men at arms at start? Not enough to change the world entirely but just enough to give him an edge for the mean time.
Open to sourced suggestions for icons and holy sites.

I was recommended to check out their mod by a commenter a while back, they did add me back on Steam so I’m assuming I have their blessing to release down the line; but if not please feel free to contact me if you want me to remove it but I’ve mainly just been making my own take on some things like lifestyle trees, MaA’s, and some events using them as templates and working from there! I do want to integrate some stuff like the custom tenets and other events, but this version of the mod I’ve been itching to release for my fellow Cultists.
