Description:
EU 5.1 Update

Paradox reblanced AI agression and conquest desire in 5.1 and addressed the main issues this mod fixed.

More coherent AI expansion / conquest decisions

This is a simple yet effective mod that rebalances the values behind AI conquest decision-making to reduce AI blobbing.

The goal is to make the AI place greater weight on regional interests, while reducing opportunistic wars against weaker states. Or simply put: Less AI blobbing without nerfing the AI.

What it changes:

  • AI places less value on war targets that are distant from its capital, reinforcing regional expansion over long-distance conquests.
  • AI is less eager to attack significantly weaker targets, helping smaller nations survive and remain playable.
  • AI places more weight on antagonism and war exhaustion.

FAQ:

  • Should be compatible with any other mod. Just load this mod last. Changes are intentionally minimal to ensure the best compatibility.
  • Not achievement compatible.
  • You can enable this mod mid-campaign. (It does not require a new game.)
  • This mod adjusts the weights of values in the existing decision-making logic when the AI selects a conquest target; it does not introduce any new game mechanic.
