Description:

⚒️ TDD – Desgun’s Fixering (WIP)
A stopgap balance & fix mod between official TDD releases

Overview
This mod is a work in progress and exists to bridge the gap between official TDD releases by providing early access to fixes, balance adjustments, and mechanical corrections for systems that are broken, incomplete, or spiraling out of control.

All changes are based on:
• Observed gameplay issues
• Community feedback
• Practical balance problems encountered in real campaigns

This is not a total overhaul (yet), but a focused correction and iteration layer built directly on top of TDD.

Core Mechanics & Logistics
• Supply wagons now actually work
• Supply wagons buffed to make logistics meaningful and worth investing in
• Global movement range and research speed reduction can be chosen during the second turn of a campaign (Applies to all faction, players and Ai)
• Fixed missile & archer range modifiers (percentage bonuses previously did nothing)
• Fixed gold not being treated as a strategic resource (blocking certain buildings and entities)

Faction Balance Adjustments

Dale
• AI recruitment capacity temporarily reduced
• Increased Yeomen cost
• Additional early-game stability nerfs
• Forced war with Feredrim from turn 1 to apply early pressure

Anduin Vale
• Heavy economic and military nerfs
• AI behavior adjusted to be more defensive and deal-oriented

Isengard
• Opportunistic AI made slightly more aggressive
• Additional buffs if neither Isengard nor Rohan is player-controlled

Rohan
• Reduced gold cost for Treacherous Influence focus clean-up
• Reduced control loss from Treacherous Influence focuses
• Reduced penalties from negative control to avoid “dead” settlements
• Reduced public order penalty from lack of influence
• Fixed Prince of Rohan trait removing a general ability
(Thanks to Solace of Night for identifying and sharing the fix)

Gondor
• Removed unintended unit caps on Gondorian units
• Swan Knights & Ithilien Rangers limits adjusted
• Fountain Guard, Citadel Guard, and Ithilien Rangers removed from shared Fiefdom unit caps
• Fixed the Withering of the White Tree debuff being permanent

Evil Factions
• Increased aggressiveness for southern evil factions
• AI now occupies settlements consistently
• Mordor reinforcement range increased for better army coordination
• Nazgûl are now immortal until the One Ring is destroyed

Goblins & Gundabad
• Goblins buffed
• Goblins and Gundabad now start with a trade agreement
• Both factions start with one additional settlement

World, Events & Visual Fixes
• Fixed Mirkwood Creatures not disappearing after forest restoration
• Removed Mirkwood Creatures when Woodland Realm is not player-controlled
• Fixed invisible Dwarven units
• Wooden watchtowers adjusted to reduce friendly fire and “cannon-like” projectiles
• Numerous additional event and incident fixes

Army Composition & AI Behavior
• AI prioritizes elite units over spam
• AI fields fewer but more expensive armies
• AI now properly builds high tier military buildings to recruit elite armies
• Reduced AI supply wagon overuse
• Army limits now scale with domination level
• Archers now shoot up to a higher angle, allowing them to get blocked less often by friendly troops, buildings and other entities
(Yes, one TDD debug setting was removed — sorry ❤️)

One Ring System (Major Update)
• Fully implemented One Ring mechanic for all factions
• The Ring is now actively carried by the faction leader
• Additional bonuses are granted if the Ring is mastered
• The Ring can be taken by killing the Ringbearer
(Agent kills may not always work — please report if encountered)
• The Ring can also be claimed by capturing the faction capital if the Ringbearer is not a general
(May not be 100% reliable — please report and provide a savegame before capture)
• Destroying the Ring banishes Sauron and destroys Mordor

AI Improvements (Recent Patch)
• Aggressive AI is now more reckless and commits harder to attacks
• AI places greater priority on military buildings
• Good-aligned AI receives an adjusted budget to avoid being stuck with Tier 1 units
• Numerous additional AI tweaks and corrections

Update Frequency
Expect daily to bi-daily updates focused on balance tweaks and bug fixes.
Larger features may take longer depending on complexity.
