Dynamic Early Conquests
This mod, at a glance, has two primary objectives: slow down early game conquest in Europe and to prevent powerful nations outside the HRE from rapidly invading it.
Age-based Catholic Casus Belli: In the Age of Traditions and the Age of Renaissance, the generic Parliament Casus Belli has been replaced with a much more expensive one, preventing rapid expansion. By the Age of Discovery, the Casus Belli becomes cheaper. By the Age of Reformation, the Casus Belli returns to the basic Parliament claim.
Papal Claims: Catholic nations can now bother the Pope for a Casus Belli. This costs 50 Religious Influence, and requires the nation to be favored by the Pope, and for the Pope to dislike the prospective target.
Religious-based Casus Belli: The generic Catholic claims are replaced by Early Religious War claims, if the targeted province is not Catholic.
HRE Protection: Catholic nations outside of the HRE can now no longer form Parliamentary claims on the HRE. This restriction also does not apply to Papal Claims, Claim Throne CBs, Insult CBs, Coalition CBs, Reclaim Core CBs, etc. Now, to expand into the HRE requires a greater deal of care and planning, and France will be unable to eat half of Germany until at least the Reformation. This restriction will eventually be lifted based on the condition selected in the "HRE Protection" game rule.
Full AI Integration: All of these features, including Papal Claims, will be utilized by the AI and should result in a slower-paced conquest for both player and AI, until about 1500.
Base-Game Style Guide: All of the localization is formatted in the near-exact style as base-game content, to provide a more seamless experience.
Voltaire’s Nightmare: The HRE will remain nice, gory, and unconsolidated throughout the Middle Ages.
HRE Protection:
- Default: War of Religions
- Options: War of Religions, Age of Discovery, Age of Reformation, Age of Absolutism
- Effects: Determines what event/age removes the parliament claim protection on the HRE.
- Recommendation: Put to either the Age of Reformation or Absolutism. I have a War of Religions mod on the way that should fix it and make it a compelling point to drop the protection, so stay tuned. But for now, turn it to either Reformation or Absolutism IMO.
– Nerf any individual nation
– Prevent Bohemia blobbing
– Change warfare balance
– Change any AI behavior
– Alter any vanilla files (should be compatible with anything)
The 1.1 Update has altered the AI’s use of No-CB wars, so my No-Casus Belli mod, is no longer required, but still reccomended.[/b] The HRE is not protected from No-CB wars. Keep all of this under advisement. I would also recommend my other mod Habsburgs and Hussites to dynamically prevent Bohemia perma-blobbing.
– Poland-Lithuania Improved Formation
– The Ottomans and the Holy League
– The Thirty Years War Revamped
– Habsburgs and Hussites
– Dynamic Early Conquests
– No Casus Belli Wars Removed
