Description:

This mod is almost always version-compatible, because it edits no vanilla files. Also very compatible with most mods.
This mod works without All Under Heaven DLC, but it does enhance the gameplay and thus strongly recommended.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Generation Names (항렬자, 字輩, 行輩) are a convention of given names commonly used in East Asian region, most notably China, Korea, and Vietnam.

These languages have common name structure: A single (somtimes double) syllable surname, followed by two syllables (sometimes one) of given name. Among these given name syllables, one is usually dedicated to be the Generation Name, a syllable that would be shared among all family members of a same generation.

This behavior is not supported by the vanilla game, so in most cases, even brothers tend to have very different given names. This is NOT historical.

With this mod, both you and the AI rulers can adopt generation name rules. Show the mighty bond and unity among your family members by using a common naming scheme!

KEY FEATURES

Determining Generation Name rules for your house. You can choose from Ten Heavenly Stems, Twelve Earthly Branches, and the Five Elements (Wuxing, 五行, 오행).
Picking characters (Hanzi / Hanja) for each generation that you have picked.
Automatic name change for the newborn male babies, to match the naming rules of your house.
AI rulers with Chinese / Korean / Vietnamese language will try to adopt the generation naming rules.
Notable historical families have their unique historical generation names.

COMPATIBILITY

IRONMAN COMPATIBLE.
This mod is (theoretically) compatible with virtually every mod.
Since this mod does not edit any namelists, it is even compatible with mods that alter the vanilla namelists. (Mods that add more name candidates for these cultures)

You can safely install the mod during a playthrough, but uninstallation during a playthrough is not guaranteed to be safe (although it would not be game-breaking; CK3 engine handles most exceptions)
