Welcome to the Beyond Stranded – Redux mod!

This is a bugfixed and streamlined version, developed with Henri/Bloodworth’s permission. For now, my focus is to make it work as best as it can, while also removing some content that is very similar/identical to other better/more up-to-date mods since this one was last updated in late 2023. Links to those mods will be below.

Once that’s completed, further content will be fleshed out to the best of my ability and inspiration, provided it doesn’t conflict with or duplicate other mods. All suggestions are welcome.

Compatibility

The mod has no overwrites so it should be compatible with any other mod.

Content
Gameplay Changes
  • Custom survivor events as well as an expedition for you to gather people for your settlement.
  • Mod Option to disable the debuff your survivors receive when rejecting a survivor from joining your colony.
  • Six new task scheduling activities for you to manage the time and production of your survivors. (Maintenance, Tailoring, Crafting, Assembling, Excavation, and Cooking).
  • A new Mine building where you’ll be able to extract minerals from the depths of the planet. Uses Physical skill.
  • New talk topics and banter for the survivors.
  • New plant and crop, Eloa. Can be used to efficiently make Healing Balm, and Eloa Wraps to treat painful scars and other post-treatment flesh wound conditions.
  • Two expeditions to help you unlock a random breakthrough.
New Survivors
  • 20 new Survivors, each with custom traits and are non-OP.
New Furniture
  • An additional chair and stool for you to use.
New Clothing
  • Improved versions of the vanilla clothing options for increased durability and slightly better temperature tolerances.

Mod recommendations:
  • Specialized Trait Collection (MANDATORY) – Beyond’s traits were moved to here so they can be used by other mods more easily. Certain survivors also use other traits from it now as well.
  • Old Earth Tech – Redux and it’s add-ons – Provides better "tech gap" weapons amongst many other features.
  • New Earth Tech – Same as above, but higher tech weapons, buildings, and features.
  • More Storages – Provides superior storage options both generic and specific.

Changes from the original mod:
  • Weapons have been removed. See mod recommendations.
  • Resource specific storages have been removed. See mod recommendations.
  • Traits moved to the Specialized Trait Collection mod. Removed ones that were duplicates to what’s already in the mod.
  • Grammar fixes and rewording certain descriptions.
  • "A stranger approaches" events will now only occur if you have 10 or less colonists. All instances after the third one require a full month’s cooldown.
  • The colonist rescue expedition will only now appear if you have 16 or less colonists and requires a prior Explore expedition to appear again after the first time.
  • Excavation research will not appear if you have New Earth Tech enabled, which features it’s own mine.
  • The Carbon Armor 2.0 expedition now instead gives a random breakthrough.
  • The Sleep Training expedition now also gives a random breakthrough in addition.
  • Sturdy Clothes tech now requires Tailoring to be researched first. Slight bonuses to their temperature tolerance changes.
  • Eloa can now be properly farmed after researching Herbal Medicine.
  • The eloa expedition is now one-time only, thus requiring farming to get more of it.
  • Added Assembling and Excavation to the task scheduling options. Excavation will also apply to New Earth Tech’s extraction activity.
  • The Hex Chair and Ritual Stool are now unlocked from the get go and no longer require research.
  • Characaters now have interests (or lack thereof) for Project-X activities if you have that mod enabled.
  • Jacques LeClaire butchers 3x as fast rather than 2x and is also now Indifferent to Excavation/Extraction.
  • Ling Wei now also has the Expert combatant trait for a 2x bonus to combat efficiency.
  • Luka Kostic’s healing skill is now 7 instead of 0, and intellectual skill 2 instead of 7.
  • Keoni Kanu now has Physically Efficient instead of Fast Miner and Fast Woodcutter, so all physical activities get a speed boost.
  • Jaden Thompson now gets a bonus for both Excavation and Extraction from New Earth Tech.

To do:
  • Expand talk topics.
  • Resolve issues with the mine.
  • Add more expeditions.
  • Better prerequisite to hide the Mine if NET is present. For now, it just won’t appear if Extraction has been researched in it.
  • Fix bugs and quirks as they arise.
