Empire Reforged
— New unit added (Hammers of Sigmar’s Retribution).
- A unit of 16 Paladins wielding dual hammers.
- Possesses a devastating Rain ability similar to Volkmar’s, but with significantly higher damage.
- Also has a passive AoE ability that activates when HP drops below 50% (+15 melee defence, +30 leadership).
- Unit cap 5
- Recruitment via Worship (3 lvl)
— Explosive troops accuracy slightly improved. I noticed that the AI was wiping out its own armies with this unit more often than the enemy.
— Fixed the "For the Empire!" ability. It now correctly buffs allied units as well (previously it only affected itself — the AoE was not working).

This mod is designed to diversify the gameplay for the Empire and provide them with what they’ve been missing. The mod focuses on various changes: adding units, mechanics, quests, and more. I will be adding all of this gradually.
If I have enough motivation and time to fully realize my vision, I hope this mod will become a deeply immersive and lore-focused rework of the Empire.
All changes are made with respect to the lore. Minor deviations are possible — for example, the inclusion of Foot Reiksguard, who traditionally serve only as the Emperor’s personal guard. Because of this, the new units are elite formations with limited availability. The purpose of these units is to provide additional late-game options for the Empire without trivializing combat or disrupting faction balance.
All future updates, including new units, mechanics, or balance changes, will follow the same design principles: the goal is not to make the game easier or replace the vanilla units, but to add variety, immersiveness and increase overall gameplay depth and interest.
Cities where Legendary Lords can build Reiksguard Infantry Barracks and Reikland Embassy:
- Sudenburg
- Nuln
- Spectazuma
- Altdorf
- Bamboo Crossing
Added buildings:
- Noble Reiksguard Court building to the Reiksguard Castle chain
- Reiksguard Barracks
- Reikland Embassy
Added units:
- Reiksguard foot Swordsmen (+1 cap for each level 3 Iron resource under your control)
- Reiksguard foot Greatswords
- Reiksguard foot Halberdiers

Reiksguard foot have a unit cap. Uses a recruitment system inspired by the Tomb Kings, Chaos Dwarfs, and similar factions, but with its own unique features. You can now increase the recruitment cap of Reiksguard foot by capturing specific key settlements and upgrading them to Tier 3–4.
Key settlements:
- Drakenhof
- Couronne
- Skavenblight
- Hell pit
- Sartosa
These settlements were chosen to roughly match the mid-to-late game progression for Reikland and Nuln.

Unique abilities for new units (descriptions shown in the screenshots)
- Compatible with existing save games
- If you are using the OvN Lost World mod, you need to install the PATCH. Place the patch above this mod in the load order. It doesn’t matter whether you are playing as the Empire or not.
- If you are using other mods that add or modify formations, place them below this mod in the load order.
- You can use this mod even if you are not playing as the Empire, to see my units within the Empire and recruit them through an alliance.
- If you are playing as the Empire, separate formation mods are generally unnecessary.
This mod is developed solo, so I would greatly appreciate any feedback—balance, ideas, or bug reports.
