HatedMekkr’s Workshop: Respirators
Hey, drifters!
I finally decided to make some kind of mod for Kenshi, and I present you my first attempt – respirators.
My goal was to make models using original meshes and textures, so that it would fit perfectly into the atmosphere and style of the game, and which felt like it could be in a vanilla game.
There are two types of respirators:
- Light Respirator;
- Fog Respirator.
Each respirator has several types that differ visually:
- Light Respirator – Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV;
- Fog Respirator – Type I, Type II, Type III.
It has an variant [L] – left, and [R] – right.
Indicates which side the filter is located on.
I made two versions of each model for two armor slots – Head and Belt so that you can combine the look with vanilla armor.
FUNCTIONALLY, they are the same:
- Light Respirators have the same protective properties as a Swamp Ninja Mask.
- Fog Respirators have the same protective properties as vanilla Fog Mask.
(Because of tech moment of the game and FCS.)
Of course, sand protection is now missing.
VISUALLY, gives you more variety of armor in the game.
There are two new research that you can explore and discover the craft of respirators:
Technology Of Light Respirators.
- Unlocks the possibility of crafting a Light Respirators – Type I in the Heavy Armour Smithy.
- Requirements: Clothing Manufacture, Hats and Headgear, Leather Armor Crafting, Plate Armour Crafting.
- I decided not to add a cost, because the player will have to spend a lot on the necessary studies for this study anyway. (A kind of balance.)
Technology Of Fog Respitarots.
- Unlocks the possibility of crafting a Fog Respirators – Type I in the Heavy Armour Smithy.
- Requirements: Technology Of Light Respirators.
- No costs.
There are new blueprints that open the craft of respirators.
For Light Respirators:
- Light Respirators – Type II [ALL] – open the every variant of Light Respirator – Type II;
- Light Respirators – Type III [ALL] – open the every variant of Light Respirator – Type III;
- Light Respirators – Type IV [ALL] – open the every variant of Light Respirator – Type IV;
Requierements: Technology Of Light Respirators.
For Fog Respirators:
- Fog Respirators – Type II [ALL] – open the every variant of Fog Respirator – Type II;
- Fog Respirators – Type III [ALL] – open the every variant of Fog Respirator – Type III;
Requierements: Technology Of Fog Respirators.
I distributed respirators around the world, trying to follow some kind of logic.
So now, you are more likely to see respirators on NPCs on Shinobi thieves, Swamp Ninja, Tech Hunters, Bounty Hunters, and similar NPCs.
Also, to purchase such respirators and blueprints, you can also find them with a high chance at Shinobi thieves, Swamp merchants, Tech Hunters, UC merchants (Armor or Hats), and stuff.
Some have more chances, some have less, but again – I tried to spread them around the world, doing it logically and taking into account the lore of the game.
In theory, there should be no conflict with other mods, because the respirators from my mod have unique names.
What about game import:
Respirators will be found in the new, generated units that you will meet in the world of Kenshi.
All this will also appear in the merchants’ products after the assortment is updated.
As for the respirators on the merchants themselves, they are unlikely to appear on them.
So if you make a game import, it’s just for the sake of it.
Basically, of course, I would recommend that you make a game import, but there is no urgent need for this.
If you notice any mistake, whether it’s a mistake in the name/description, a "broken" texture or mesh, or if you have any ideas to improve the mod and add something new to it, be sure to leave a comment with all this!
I will definitely read it and respond by expressing my opinion about it.
