Sappers (Project 6T)
Military Engineers provide the bonuses of Battering Rams and Siege Towers once Siege Tactics are researched. Siege Towers now upgrade to Military Engineers but only after Siege Tactics is unlocked.
Ever since Battering Rams upgrade to Siege Towers and Siege Towers to Medics, the ability to do more damage against cities with the help of support units gets lost eventually, even though many cities don’t have Renaissance Walls yet and those units would still be very useful. This mod ensures that the functionality of these units is eventually transferred to Military Engineers to preserve it as an option.
Note: there is a new "Sapper" unit. However, it cannot be built (the moment it unlocks, it is already outdated) and only exists to delay the upgrade from Siege Towers to Military Engineers.
