The World of Syx comes to life – Let your subjects become legends.
This mod aims to add a layer of adventure and exploration to the world of Syx, by allowing you to recognize certain subjects as Heroic, giving them the ability to join parties and go on adventures on the world map, fight bandits, find treasure, slaughter innoccent villagers, and much more!

This mod now incroporates PrPleGoos’ Region Rework as well as Griffins’ Drawbridge mods.
DO NOT activate either while playing with this mod.
PrPleGoo let me use the source code of his mod Region Rework but is otherwise not involved with this mod’s development.
- 10 Hero Roles for you to choose for your subjects, should they qualify.
- Each role comes with customized equipable artifacts, stat bonuses (per level),requirements and more..
- Randomly generated bandit camps on the world map for your heroes to defeat, including randomly generated custom hero combat map layouts.
- Heroes can join your Armies as special units that boost firendly unit performance in an area nearby them and can increase their leadership abilities.
- Heroes provide a productivityquality bonus to their favorite productionservice room type, depending on their Role and Level.
- Hero Parties can undergo 8 types of standard Missions on target Regions and Armies, see list below. These are all open for Editing and for adding your own missions (within limitations).
- hero caravan escorting and raiding.
- full banditry system.
- full artifact crafting and hero inventory system.
- living villages: enter randomly generated small villages with your parties and trade with locals, steal resources – or raid the village for loot and carnage.
- village battle maps: army battles near (3 tiles away) from a village will apply that villages’ settlement map during battle.
- field fortifications – fortified armies actually have fortifications (in field battles) and defend their throne if enemy.
- functional manual siege battle including defensive AI.
- interactable, persisting living cities for your heroes to visit and perform missions.
- hero crime bounty system.
- role-based skill point allocation system and character sheet.

- Race mods (and other content-only mods) should be completely compatible
- known world generation limitation – if you get icon.24 crash, just start over – it should work the second time once the cache is resolved. May occur again when removing/adding ExtraInfo to the loaded modlist
- subjects may be elevated to Heroes from the subject info Panel (next to where you elevate to Noble).
- Heroes must then be assigned a Role to become fully functional (much like nobles), with each role having diferent requirements (mostly mid-game level). Subjects which are not eligible for any role requirements will have this button disabled.
- there is a search tool in the same panel which lets you find which subjects are currently qualified to each role.
- you can modify all role definitions in the gameinitheroes folder – or even make your own!
- you may also skip most Hero requirements and limitations by using Developer Mode, making your changes, saving, and loading the game again in regular mode.
- Heroes will spend their time either training in their favorite combat skill (if there is a place to train) or by hanging out ther favorite building (and boosting it).
- Heroes which are assigned to newly forming parties will gather any stockpiled equipment as assigned by their inventory before they leave for the world map.
- You can set each hero base equipment and artifact loadout by editing their inventory (cogwheel Button in hero panel)
- Hero Parties may be created by the Party panel in the world map (next to the Armies panel button).
- Some hero Roles provide boosts to the stats of all party members while together (bards, priests, knights).
- each party may include up to 4 memebrs and 2 pack animals (wildlife) for each member.
- party size and pack animals determine carry capacity for treasure and rewards.
- party travel speed depends on average hero speed and party encumbrance.
- parties do not require supplies.
- you may disband or move a party by selecting it from the Party panel and using the buttons in the Detailed Party panel which opens.
- parties may move on miniroads, which now lead to villages, bandit camps and havens
- bandit camps spawn on a timer, no more than 1 per region.
- Bandit camps increase trade tarriff in the region they are in.
- Bandit camps raid trade shipments in the region and hoard their spoils.
- Bandit camps may evolve into Raider Camps which contain the leader of a raider army as a final boss.
- heroes can escort (or raid) trade shipments – with custom battle maps.
- you may engage bandit camps with your hero parties – victory will gain you resources, gold, reputation and XP.
- DO NOT ENGAGE HAVENS – they are currently busted and are intended as end-game content for alter mod versions.
- parties may move to attach to a friendly army – 1 party per army.
- heroes which are attached to armies join them in battle and provide nearby units with an aura of leadership which boosts certain stats. aura stat, boost strength and aura size depends on Hero role, level, and leadership level (leadership XP gained by fighting alongside armies – different from regular XP).
- MISSIONS – 8 differenent types:
- Region – Assassiante Noble
- Region – Steal Resrouce
- Region – Sabotage Fortifications (disables gates during sieges)
- Region – Religious Conversion
- Army – Sabotage Equipment
- Army – Sabotage Supplies
- Army – Demoralize
- Army – Distract (stop)
- Region missions are accomplished by enetering the city with your party and interacting with it.
- Army missions are accomplished by targeting an enemy army with your party.
- Artificer and Reliquary are new rooms for craftingstoring artifacts.
- current enchantments focus on hero-related skills. More will be added in the future.
- only certain hero roles can carry certain equipment type artifacts.
- heroes cannot equip an artifact with a level higher than their own level.
- Hero Inventory and character sheet screen for managing each hero equipment, artifact loadout and skill points (accessed from cog button in the heroes panel next to portrait).
