Description:

Pivot Archipelagoes
—— Crusader Kings III Map Mod

In the sprawling realms of Crusader Kings III, islands have long lingered as afterthoughts—distant outposts, trivial prizes, or stepping stones to grander continental conquests. But what if the tides of fate shifted, lifting these once-obscure isles to become the pivotal linchpins that dictate the balance of power?

The Pivot Archipelagoes mod revises the game map and expands 7 key counties, transforming them into high-potential core holdings with a significantly increased number of baronies under their jurisdiction:

1. Gotland: A formerly independent county, now expanded with additional baronies, standing at the heart of the Baltic Sea;

2. Balearic Islands: Retains the County of Mallorca, merges the other two counties under the ducal title, falls under the Empire of Spain, and allows deep participation in regional conflicts;

3. Sardinia: Unites all counties of the island under Cagliari, making it the county with the most baronies (13) in the entire game (note: not all baronies are coastal);

4. Corsica: Following Sardinia’s example, unites all island holdings under Ajaccio and adds new baronies, forming a strategic duo with Sardinia to dominate the Mediterranean;

5. Cyprus: Consolidates the entire island under Nicosia with new baronies, enabling lords to easily meddle in the power struggles between the Byzantine Empire, the Middle East, and Egypt;

6. Maldives: Turns every single isle into an independent barony, adds inter-island travel routes, and lifts the vanilla hunting restrictions (why not?);

7. Taiwan: Merged into a single county with two additional offshore isle baronies.

You can be a Norse lord feared across the Baltic coasts, a Sardinian magistrate vying for Mediterranean supremacy; a schemer who controls the Cypriot hub and balances Byzantine and Middle Eastern powers, a merchant prince monopolizing the Maldivian spice routes, or an Eastern ruler who sits atop Taiwan’s fertile lands. This mod aims to add unique fun without breaking the vanilla gameplay, turning each pivot archipelago into a treasure worth passing down through your dynasty, and every island county into a launchpad for a minor lord to rise as a legendary figure in history.

Future Update Plans

1. All island holdings are set to farmland terrain in the current version—after all, choosing to rule an island means leveraging maritime defenses to keep enemies at bay and focus on peaceful development. Future incremental updates will adjust terrain distribution to be more geographically logical.

2. Create unique decisions and event chains for core pivot islands, closely aligned with their cultural traits and strategic positions.

3. Full localization in Chinese and English is now complete; localizations for other languages will be rolled out gradually based on player demand, and community contributions to localization are welcome.

Compatibility Notes

– Compatible Mods: This mod only adds new baronies and related gameplay mechanics, with no changes to any Coats of Arms (COA) or historical data. It is fully compatible with mods that focus on buildings, cultures, and vanilla-based scenarios.

– Incompatible Mods: Map modifications require replacing the entire game map and core parameters, so this mod is incompatible with any other mods that alter the map.

Update Log

1.Crash Fix: Now council task find secrets won’t cause crashes.

260126:
1.Crash Fix: Added historical data modifications to resolve crashes caused by opening the family pages of Sardinia and Mallorca regions (essentially due to historical data issues);
2.Terrain Correction: Adjusted Taiwan’s terrain to farmland.
