Description:
Description

By default, vanilla Lost targeting use a team system, where 70% of Lost are first assigned to target the XCOM team, whereas the later 30% are assigned to target the ADVENT one (this decision is then ponderated depending on other considerations, such as the distance to the different targets, if Lost are already adjacent to one, or how many are already attacking the same target). However, this notably means that a Lost will never target someone not from these teams, for example a raider from a mod-added third party faction.
This mod entirely gets rid of this team targeting system: now Lost directly choose their target from all available units on the battlefield, independantly of what team they are from.
Consequently:

  • There is no more bias tied to the team: all units are treated the same (should they be from XCOM, ADVENT, raider factions, resistance, or even civilians)
  • As a consequence, Lost can now (and will) target raiders from a mod-added third party.
  • As the targeting system is far more randomized, Lost can become more unpredictable (all could decide to attack XCOM one turn, or none and prefer other available targets instead).

Some other Lost mods

There are other mods tampering with the Lost team, that I’m listing for reference (using them, of course, would be redundant with mine):

  • [WOTC] Fair Lost Targeting: this ini mod keeps the target system, but changes the chances to 50/50 between XCOM and ADVENT (this functionnality is also, by default, integrated into A Better Advent)
  • More Fair Modded Lost Targeting: Lost are spawned as a raider faction (in eTeam_One), and will act accordindly. Hence, they will be able to target most raider modded units (often in eTeam_Two), but not those from the Hive, for example (which are eTeam_One).

Compatibility

Should be compatible with everything else I know of (as I only modified the XGAIPLayer_TheLost file). If that were not the case, tell me in the comments, so that I can update the description.
