I made this map special for roleplaying, that’s why I’ve written a guide to help you! Outcomes of civil wars, faction vs faction wars, special events, etc. It’s very long so I recommend it for hardcore rp enjoyers but by no means think it’s the only way you can enjoy this map

What If Nobody Won WW2… Again.

The collapse of the twin powers of Russia and the United States is shockingly similar. But it would all begin, unsurprisingly, with two gunshots. Leaving Vladimir Lenin dead…

What would follow is the slow grinding of the Russian Civil War to a brutal halt. The White Movement would naturally drift apart or be subsumed into other nearby anti-communist movements, and the Red Movement fell victim to the same petty factionalism after Viktor Chernov took leadership of the movement’s remnants. This led millions of Red Army, White Army, and non-aligned refugees to flee Russia. Some fled to India, many fled to China, and most fled to South America, where their support could bolster communist or anti-communist movements in the region.

In the heart of 1930’s Europe, Hitler’s Germany remains unaffected. The Allied powers surrendering Austria and Czechoslovakia to the Reich. But an invasion of Poland would force the Allies’ hand, Poland would eventually fall, though it’s harsh resistance and river defenses would hold the Germans far longer than anticipated. In the West, the Benelux would be blitzed, and Northern France would come under siege. British and French fighter planes clashed with the German Luftwaffe, it was clear the Germans would win the air war in the end. But what the Allies wouldn’t anticipate was spotting a massive Panzer built-up near the Ardennes, the Germans were planning something…

And that something swiftly arrived, Panzers punch through the Ardennes, attempting to encircle the bulk of Allied troops, but with the resources tied up in Poland only now being freed, the Allies had managed to spot the movements and avoid the encirclement. Hitler’s knockout punch had now been turned into a potential route, his tanks were deep in enemy lines, supporting troops held, but they were anticipating a short struggle, not this. Under threat of counterencirclement, Hitler withdrew his tanks, turning an eye to the east.

Hitler had caught a rumor passed up through his high command that the resurgent Soviet Socialist Federation, formed out of the Moscow region, was looking to reconquer its lost territories of the old Russian Empire, which included some more nationalistic claims on regions like Galicia and East Prussia. This was horrible news. Hitler had attempted to avoid another two-front war, even when he assumed France would fall easily, now with the Allies bitterly holding out at the expense of their people and country, the Reich may not be able to secure its place. Thus, negotiations were sought out, both sides sought to contain communism in any form, but the Allies wouldn’t concede any of Western Europe. The deal reached was simple: the Allies would recognize Germany’s gains in Eastern Europe, in exchange, Germany would pull out of Western Europe and the Benelux. While a decent deal on paper, the populations of both sides were furious. To the people of France and Britain who hadn’t wanted to surrender, it was borderline treason, bending the knee to the Germans, while, in Germany, more and more soldiers and officers began to doubt the new Reich, and imperial nostalgia for the German Empire of old only grew.

The British economy would collapse under the weight, Edmund Ironside and his gang of loyal officers couped the government. While the French far-right banded together under a reactionary monarchy, seizing power through a short civil war. The empires of both former powers would nearly dissolve under the stress. But this stress would also be felt across the pond.

America was in dire straits at this point. F.D.R. would be assassinated whilst giving a speech, passing his presidential run to his candidate for vice president, John Nance Garner. While he had his followers, his campaign would slow down come election day, but against all odds, elections were declared too close to call, passing it to the house, who declared Herbert Hoover had won reelection.

This lent America another 4 years of Laissez-faire economics. Come 1940, and John Nance Garner would win the election in a landslide against Alf Landon, but the damage had already been done, and just as some semblance of federal intervention seemed possible, the London stock market crash sent America deeper into the hole than it had ever been, compounded by the collapse of the British and French empires. This would send America over the edge; the system had thoroughly rotted to the core. Militias formed and clashed with federal officers simply to get enough food. What was left of the United States government fled to Nicaragua, with a bulk of its military running a junta out of Washington.

This brings us to current events. The exiles hold on in their colonies, banding together under the Commonwealth of Nations, the surviving Beiyang government cedes ever more autonomy to the Japanese, and Russia prepares for its great reunification wars. All signs point to a great Continuation War, the culmination of the vitriolic hatred left to fester since the end of the Great War. The only question now is, who will fire the first shot?
