yc’s Faction Editor makes all of this possible!
This Mod allows you to deeply customize any faction’s equipment, generation logic in real-time, and save your configurations.


✨ Features

🎯 Faction Generation, My Rules.
  • Precise Control: Not just factions, you can control down to specific pawn types.
  • Group Control: Trader groups, combat groups, settlement groups… customize generation pawns and equipment as you wish, even add mechanoids and animals? Try adding them in Group settings.
  • Extensive Options: Budget control, tech control, xenotype probability, health conditions, and more for deep customization.
  • Real-time Preview: No need for dev commands to check modified groups, one-click real-time window preview.

⚔️ Item Customization
  • Forced Equipment: Designate specific weapons that pawns must carry.
  • Material & Quality: Set weapon materials (e.g., plasteel, uranium) and quality (e.g., excellent, legendary).
  • Biocoding: Set the probability of weapons being biocoded to prevent easy looting.

⚔️ Faction Customization
  • Create New Factions: Build new factions based on existing templates, with support for manually adding settlements on the map.
  • Modify Factions: Name, description, icon, goodwill, and more.
  • Save Factions: Saved factions can be used in new saves just like **pawn presets** exported from character editors.

🛠️ Powerful In-Game Editor
  • Easy to Use: All operations are done in-game through a modern enhanced UI.
  • Advanced Filtering: Filter items by Mod source (e.g., show only "Vanilla Expanded" series equipment), combined with tech level, damage value filters to quickly locate target gear.
  • Preset Management & Sharing: Save your configurations as presets, export to share with friends, or seamlessly migrate between different saves*. (*May have bugs, currently in testing)
  • Copy & Paste: Support copying configurations between different pawn types for quick batch application.


💡 Inspiration & Recommendations

This Mod is inspired by the classic Total Control.

📖 How to Use

  1. Enter the game and open Mod settings.
  2. Find the editor button for yc’s Faction Editor.
  3. Select the Faction you want to modify from the left panel.
  4. Select the specific Pawn Type from the middle list.
  5. Configure Weapons, Apparel or Health Conditions in the right panel.
  6. Click save, and the configuration takes effect immediately (applies to newly generated units).


🤝 Compatibility

  • Existing Saves: Can be safely added to existing saves. Configurations only affect newly generated units.
  • Harmony: This Mod requires the Harmony library to run.


⚠️ FAQ

Q: Is it compatible with Total Control?
A: Yes.

Q: Is it compatible with CE?
A: Currently, the pawn kinds can generate weapons and ammunition properly, and all stats are working fine.

Q: Does it support Mod factions?
A: Theoretically yes.

Q: Is there a way to add new pawnkinds to a faction?
A:Due to some code limitations, it is not safe to add new pawn kind Defs directly. However, you can achieve a similar effect: Go to Faction Editor → Faction Groups → select a group (e.g., "Combat#1"), then add non-faction pawns / mechanoids / animals. Raids will be generated using the pawn pool you set here.

Q: Will this affect existing units?
A: No. Modifications only affect

newly generated

units (such as newly spawned raids, reinforcements, or caravans).

Q: Can I add this mid-save?
A: No problem.

Q: What happens if I uninstall the Mod?
A: Only the Mod’s configuration data will be lost. Game saves are usually safe, may show a few red errors, but won’t affect normal gameplay.
