Description:
What is Regnum Teutonicum?

Regnum Teutonicum (Empire/Kingdom of the Germans) is a mod, that fixes and adds many historical families of the HRE, fixes title histories, adds counties and thus adds more regional flavor. The aim is to revamp all regions of the HRE in all three startdates (867, 1066, 1178), right now, 1066 is the only startdate, which has been partially touched by me.

What you can expect

Although you maybe won’t notice a large change at first glance, you will notice a change in the dynamic of playing a family – major or minor – in the HRE, as there are way more characters to be interacted with and to marry. More stories will unfold and make the medieval world in your game feel more alive. Right now, there are no custom events or decisions for the new added characters and families, but you can expect a few to be added in future updates.

Right now, the most finished region is the Duchy of Bavaria and the Margaravate of the Nordgau in 1066, so if you want to have the best first experience with the mod, play in that region and startdate.

What has been added in the last update? (V. 0.03)

1066:

• Added the County of Urach in Swabia
• Fixed the title history of Brixen (Pustertal)
• Fixed the title history of Kärnten (Lavanttal)
• Added the House of Spanheim (Bavarian cadet branch of the Sponheim Dynasty)
• Added 3 new historical characters to the House of Spanheim
• Fixed the birth- and deathdates of various characters (including the House of Spanheim)
• Removed Hedwig (wive of Engelbert I of Spanheim) as a part of the Billung Dynasty and added her to the House of Eppenstein, more precicely as the daughter of Markwart IV, as this kinship is more plausible than the disputed affiliation with the House of Billung.
• Gave Ordulf Billung, Duke of Angria, the Counties of Goslar and Göttingen (These were previously mistakenly part of Hedwig Billung’s Domain)
• Added 16 new historical characters to the Urach Dynasty
• Added the House of Lechsgemünd as part of the Liutpolding Dynasty with 13 members that were already in the game and 5 new historical characters
• Added the Coat of Arms of the House of Lechsgemünd
• Fixed the title history of the County of Ansbach (Sualafeldgau)
• Added the House of Schweinfurt as part of the Liutpolding Dynasty, including all 4 new Schweinfurt members from the last update 0.02 and 7 dynasty members that were already in the base game
• Added the Coat of Arms for the County and House of Urach and the House of Schweinfurt
• Added 6 new historical characters to the Welfen Dynasty (the original one)
• Changed birth- and deathdates of several already existing historical characters of the Welfen Dynasty
• Added 1 new historical character to the Weimar Dynasty (Istrien-Krain-Branch) and edited the life dates of several members
• Edited Heinrich I "Furiosus" of the Ezzonen House and gave him the Nickname "the Insane", the traits murderer, lunatic_1, kinslayer_2, wrathful, vengeful, pranaoid and education_martial_2, fixed death date (29th July 1060) of Heinrich and added his murder of Matilda of Lorraine, his wife, on the 17th July of 1060. (this one is for @tatarcus)
• Added 2 new historical characters of the Ezzonen Dynasty
• Removed Hermann Ezzonen (Heinrich I’s son) as holder of the counties Speyer, Worms, Kaiserslautern, Colmar and Saarbrücken and gave him the County of Dortmund as vasall of Gottfried III the Bearded of Lower-Lorraine, where his county was situated in real life. Several more counties still need to be assigned to him.
• Changed the County of Worms to a bishopric and made Adalbert, brother of Rudolf von Rheinfelden, Duke of Swabia, the Bishop.
• Edited the character of Adalbert von Rheinfelden (added the trait "comfort_eater")
• Gave Kaiser Heinrich IV the Counties of Speyer and Kaiserslautern, Colmar to Eberhard Etichonen (von Egisheim-Dagsburg) and Saarbrücken to Siegbert (or Siegebert) of Saarbrücken, who was already in the base game.
• Added the House of Sulzbach as a cadet branch of the Ernste Dynasty
• Changed the title history of Parsberg and Hohenberg
• Added 1 new historical character to the House of Sonnenberg
• Removed the Archbishopric of Salzburg and changed it to a bishopric
• Added the Bishopric of Salzburg as a vasall to the Duke of Bavaria
• Made Count Engelbert of Pustertal a vasall of the Duke of Carinthia
• Fixed the claimants of the Duchy of Carinthia
• Changed the bishopric of Coburg to a feudal county, as the holder ingame is Goswin I of Stahleck (Höchstadt), who was the grandfather of Hermann von Stahleck (Count-Palatine at the Rhine), wasn’t a bishop.
• Removed two members of the Sieghardinger Dynasty (both were added mistakenly in the last update)
• Added the Bishop of Brixen for the 1066 date, Altwin, and gave him the counties of Innsbruck and Lienz
• Added two new historical characters of the House of Andechs

There is still a lot to do – right now, Bavaria and the Nordgau are almost finished for the startdate of 1066 (867 and 1178 will be revamped when 1066 is completly finished).

To-Do List (1066)

• Finish the fixes for Bavaria & the Nordgau
• Fix the Palatinate of Lotharingia
• Redo & Rebalance the Duchy of Lower Lorraine (add more counties)
• Revise the House of the Wigeriche
• Add new families for Swabia, Franconia, Upper and Lower Lorraine and Saxony
• Add unique events and decisions for specific historical characters and families (as an example the Ezzonids)

Before I will add more county-titles, all missing families need to be assigned and added first.
