Summary Better Overpowered Byzantium – Lite
A new version of the mod Better Overpowered Byzantium.
This is a LITE Version Better Overpowered Byzantium created by Chaotica. I had worked very closely with him on adding a lot more flavour to the mod. This Lite version is not Lite in terms of flavour on the contrary it actually has MORE Flavour, just that the effects of all the flavour OLD and NEW is TONED DOWNED.
This makes it compatible with the current game, as well as fixing/changing some issues the mod had.

- Two New Byzantium Government Mechanics
- Byzantine Government gives Roman Imperial Council (modeled after the State of Council mechanic)
- Restore the Master of Offices gives Byzantine Modernization (modeled after the Egyptian Westernization)
- Certain Reforms have been amended and added like
- The Theme System More powerful Military buffs.
- Laesio Economis Allows for the Diplomatic Action of Establish Protectorates.
- The Ecumenical Council a new Religion Level Government Reform that enables Greater Holy War CB that allows forced conversions of even Heathens and even allows for Propapate Religion Trading Policy to target provinces with Abrahamic Faith.
- Synkletos a new Nobility Level Government Reform that enables the Parliament Mechanic.
- Roman Senate which enables the Parliament Mechanic, now just buffs the Parliament Mechanic that was already unlocked via the Synkletos Government Reform.
- Renamed both instances of Subject Pronoiars and Special Units, to respectively Despotates and Stratiotai (Repurposed Banners).
- Depotates (Subject Pronoiars) can now be landed in the diplomacy screen. Despotates are strong and will take on the culture and religion of the owner, and will have a temporary buff to help convert provinces fast (to prevent them from reverting to their original religion)
- Estate privileges are fixed and updated. Many get buffed with the New Mission Tree.
- Byzantine Naval Doctrine is first choice, rather than last, so it is clickable
- Lots of Static Modifier additions and changes including but not limited too, more Flapships with Naval Tradition, more Land and Naval Leaders with Army and Naval Tradition respectively, and many more.
- New Mission Tree which is much larger and some missions are expanded. A lot of flavour added to the Mission Tree including new unlockable Government Reforms, the Russian PU Mission Branching Tree from Theodoro, British special Colonial Parliamentary Debates (like the Tea, Spice, Sugar, Gold and Colonial Ventures Act), Egyptian missions fused with Byzantine ones allow Cloves to Spawn in Cairo and even the early Tech 10 unlock to construct the Suez Canal, and even Two New Monument Spawns.
- Two New Spawing Monuments.
- New Great Project in Constantinople (hidden behind a mission)
- New Great Project in Rome (hidden behind a mission)
- Heir Event from the Harem Mechanic is improved (more OP)
- Orthodox Holy Orders in states are buffed, one is better in areas with monuments and the other for every other area.
- More Flagship modifiers.
- Cossacks are available as an estate from the start, and unlocks the New Kataphraktoi Estate which Special Kataphraktoi Cavalry Units (Repurposed Hussars) which have their own buffs.
- Special Varangoi Infantry Units (Repurposed Tercio Infantry) which have their own buffs.
- A lot of beautiful UI elements including but not limited to; Roman Imperial Council Mechanic GUI, Byzantine Modernization Mechanic UI, Synkletos Factions Mechanic GUI, Holy Orders GUI, Flagship GUI, Special Units GUI (Stratiotai, Kataphraktoi & Varangoi), Harem Events GUI, Monument Spawn GUI, and much more.
- Decision to add all provinces as seats in parliament.
- Lots of coloured localisation added and improved to make it feel more immersive.
- All mod files (should) now properly work together with the latest patch (1.37.5.0)
In addition the mod Modifiers sorting and coloring has been integrated in this mod.
We did not get a response from the author after reaching out, but as they have permitted integrations in the past we are assuming it is fine.

Note that for it to work (you can test it otherwise though) you must have ALL UNIT SPRITE DLCS
This mod has been made with the assumption the player has all DLC. If you do not, not all parts of the mod may be working properly.
At least for the missions you need the King of Kings DLC, and a lot of other mechanics are also not playable without their respective DLCs.
