Description:
Battle Stations

Stop micromanaging your defense. Assign once, deploy in a single click.

When a raid hits, every second spent drafting survivors and dragging them into position is a second your colony is bleeding. Battle Stations lets you assign each survivor and robot a defensive post ahead of time, then send them there instantly — drafted and ready to fight — with one action.

Features
  • One-click deployment — draft a unit and send it to its assigned post in a single action.
  • Mass mobilization — select multiple units of the same type and order them all to their battle stations at once.
  • They hold the line — units defend themselves once they reach their station.
  • Robots welcome — full support for robots when the Robots DLC is installed.
  • Per-area stations (optional) — assign different battle stations for different work areas and recall an entire area at once.

How to use
  1. Select a survivor or robot and move them to where you want them to defend.
  2. Click Assign battle station on their info panel.
  3. When trouble comes, click Report to battle station — they’ll draft automatically and march to their post.
  4. Use Clear battle station to remove an assignment.

Tip: box-select a group of the same unit type and use the group’s "Report to battle station" action to send them all at once.

Advanced: Work Areas

Optional — leave this off unless you need it. It adds extra complexity for players who want fine-grained control.

Enable the Use Work Areas mod option to assign separate battle stations per work area in addition to a unit’s global station.

  • With the option enabled, assigning or clearing a unit’s battle station affects only the work area it is currently assigned to.
  • When ordered to report, a unit moves to the station for its current work area. If that area has no station, it falls back to its global station.
  • If a unit has no global station at all, it will not be drafted or recalled.

Recall an entire area: every work area flag gains a Recall to battle stations action that summons all units assigned to that area — whether or not they’re currently working it. Recall never changes a unit’s work-area assignment, and units already drafted are left alone.

The "global" station is exactly the same station you’d use with Work Areas turned off.
