6P28 PSS ‘Vul’ Pistol
This mod adds the Soviet silent pistol PSS (6P28) with its unique SP-4 captive-piston ammunition.
The main trick here is the ammo: a special piston inside the cartridge pushes the bullet and then plugs the case, trapping all the loud gases inside. No suppressor needed. It’s incredibly quiet — even quieter than a suppressed .22 LR. Basically, the only thing you hear is the slide cycling.
A bit of history:
Designed by TsNIITochMash in 1979-1983 to give GRU a compact, truly silent sidearm. It’s been in service since ’83 and is still used today (modernized as PSS-2).
