Understated Elegance In Graphics (Elder Kings Edition)
Please note that Crusader Kings has been updated to version 1.19, while Elder Kings is still only compatible with version 1.18. To keep this mod fully compatible with Elder Kings, no new updates will be released until Elder Kings is updated as well. Thank you for your understanding.
It was my desire to adapt Gong Zelin’s splendid mod, Understated Elegance in Graphics, for Elder Kings. At first, I altered it merely for my own amusement, yet, having seen the beauty it afforded me, I was moved to present it also to this excellent community, my sole ambition being that others might likewise find enjoyment and satisfaction in it.
In this Elder Kings edition of the mod, alterations and additions to the user interface, such as the tabletop elements and the paper map add-on, together with the author’s personal modifications pertaining to vanilla cultures and religions, have been wholly removed in the interest of securing the utmost compatibility. Save for these removals, all shaders, map textures, water textures, minor user-interface refinements, border alterations, and fonts contained within the original work have been revised so as to function harmoniously with Elder Kings.
The mod requires high system specifications due to its high-quality shaders and textures. If your system isn’t up to the task, expect noticeable differences in the game performance.
It is not necessary to subscribe to the original mod in order to use this one, the installation of this mod alone will suffice. As the original creator himself has declared, the mod is not intended to function beyond Vanilla, save in this adapted-overhaul instance.
This adaptation has been prepared with several of the larger and more comprehensive Elder Kings mods in mind, and may therefore be used safely in combination with the following:
- COW-EK2
- Submod for EK2 – Holdings Art
- Jam’s New Cultures and Map Edits for EK2
- ULTIMATE Elder Kings LITE
- The Trial of Vivec
- Elder Kings Expanded
This mod must be loaded AFTER Elder Kings 2 and likewise after the mods listed above.
COW-EK2 and Submod for EK2 Holdings Art, however, need to be loaded after this mod.
As Gong Zelin continues to refine and update his original creation, it is my intention to keep this adaptation in step with those improvements.
