Chris & Chef

Chris & Chef, based on their appearances in QP Shooting and 100% Orange Juice, join Rivals of Aether! They are a duo character similar to Sheik/Zelda or Pokemon Trainer, letting you swap between them by using Down Special. Both Chris and Chef have a unique set of moves!

Chris and Chef act as a separate characters that you can swap between mid-game with use of Down Special, and their Forward Specials alternate with each use. The two different Forward Specials are on a shared cycle, so using one as a character will have it also alternate for the other.

Chris sends Chef’s special or a Bunny Hamburg forwards as a projectile. Chef’s Special is an upwards-launching multihit projectile, while the Bunny Hamburg slows bounces along the stage and gains more height with each bounce.

Chris gets carried upwards by a pepper. This moves only has a hitbox at the start of its travel, and can be cancelled early by inputting down or shield. While it moves slowly, it gains a fair amount of height.

Chris winds up and thrusts her hand forwards to stop the opponent. If hit, they will be launched forwards and stunned briefly. This move can also be cancelled out of on hit and has soft armor during the startup.

Chef leaps forwards with a frying pan or a knife and does an overhead attack. The frying pan acts as a strong spike that buries opponents, while the knife acts as a strong horizontal launcher. You can do the attack early by inputting special again.

Chef dual wields knives while spinning and rising upwards. This move does not gain much height, but does a special finisher on hit that sends opponents outwards.

Chef tosses a die as an arcing projectile that rolls a random number from 1 to 6. Each number will do 2 to 7 damage respectively.
