Trait Clarity
A collection of small improvements to trait presentation and text.
1. Trait Tags
⭐️ You can now see what traits your citizens have by checking their bio.
⭐️ When you click on a citizen, each line of text in their bio panel will be tagged with the trait that’s tied to that text; no more guessing!
⭐️ Trait tags are written in brackets at the start of each trait-related sentence, like this: "[TRAIT] Flavor text, blah blah blah."
2. Foreign Ruler Titles
⭐️ In vanilla, foreign ruler titles are generated based on the traits that ruler has. For example, rulers with the Ambitious trait will be given the title "the Great". The problem is that some of these titles don’t follow the same format, are a little long, just not very cool-sounding, etc….
⭐️ So, this mod renames several ruler titles to correct this. They all now follow the same format: "the BLANK", and the lamer ones have been improved.
⭐️ For example, the Pacifist trait’s title was "Bringer of Peace", which I’ve changed to "the Peacekeeper".
3. New Trait Flavor
⭐️ In vanilla, every trait has several flavor text lines associated with it, which appear in your citizen’s bio panel.
⭐️ I’ve improved the wording and corrected grammatical/punctuation errors in many of these lines; bios should read smoother than before.
⭐️ Also added new lines of flavor text per trait to improve variety. Tried to make the bio more interesting by making my new lines more specific to that particular citizen and your city; by referencing their current job, their friends, hated races, etc.
⭐ The new lines generally try to be more colorful and fun, while still blending in with vanilla, to encourage the game’s goal of dynamic storytelling.
•️ Add many more new lines of flavor text per trait.
•️ If anyone knows how to make a trait’s text specific to a certain race, I’d like to make new flavor text specific to certain race-trait combos.
•️ If the modding tools let me, want to replace the bio trait tagging with bolded or colored text, instead of brackets.
•️ Add new traits?
