Veiled Mysteries
Delve into low-level magic and mysticism.
With your character skills shaping the outcome.
Made for AGOT, but simple enough to work as a standalone mod for vanilla playthroughs,
and you can turn off the more unrealistic events and/or artifacts.
There are whispers of knowledge not found in courtly tomes nor preached from gilded pulpits.
Arts half-forgotten, half-feared, lingering at the edges of reason and faith.
Veiled Mysteries allows rulers to pursue these subtle paths, where intellect, ambition, and weakness alike may open doors best left closed.
The foolish and the desperate may barter with witches, gaining fleeting power at unseen cost, while true scholars may delve into disciplined alchemy or the weighty truths of theology.
Those versed in intrigue may, on rare and troubling occasions, brush against the occult itself. Where secrets grow darker, and the boundary between life and death is thin.
Within these pursuits lie potent boons, rare artifacts, and perilous encounters…
This is not a grand system of overt magic, nor does it seek to rival the more complex mods out there.
Its purpose is to remain broadly compatible and preserve the balance of the base game and AGOT alike.
No new buildings, traits, intrusive systems or complicated menus.
Only two decisions, woven into the existing mystical framework of vanilla ck3, that will roll more than 100 events shaped by the choices you make and your skills.
The two decisions:
Visit the Witch Hut:
Search for the rumored witch’s hut to perform rituals and brew powerful potions that enhance you or your heir.
Everything for a cost… usually an eye or your testicles… You will get scamed.
Available only to greedy and susceptible characters. High learning characters may not be able to seek the witch.
(Usualy 9 or more intrigue and 8 or less learning, but some dubious characters may have access to her due to their traits)
Seek the Higher Mysteries:
Available only to Landed rulers with average/high skills. (minimum 9 on stewardship, intrigue and learning)
You will have access to four options depending on your skills and lifestyle traits:
– Engage in Alchemy (stewardship focus),
– Occultism (for the more Intrigue focused characters),
– Theology (learning focus),
– or just study to better yourself.
Roll almost 20 useful artifacts, tend to your ailments, and seek out boons that may grant wisdom, strength… or death.
Such rites may touch your spouse, or even shape your heir. Just don’t seek the Lady in the Woods.
– AI will use both decisions;
– Most modifiers and artifacts have 3 tiers;
– Only adult characters can use this;
– Unlanded characters can only visit the witch hut;
– COMPATIBLE AND MADE FOR AGOT
– You have a Gamerule if you want to turn off the more unrealistic events and/or artifacts
