Crafted Realm Landmarks

Crafted Realm Landmarks adds a landmark-building system to Crusader Kings III, letting landed rulers commission powerful, thematic special buildings in counties that would otherwise never gain a unique wonder.

Instead of every memorable province being locked to historical locations, this mod lets you shape your own realm over time through wealth, prestige, terrain, and ruler skill.

Construct New Landmark Decision

Adds a major realm decision:
Construct New Landmark

Commission a powerful landmark in a county that does not already contain a special building.

Each ruler may only construct one landmark per lifetime or once every 50 years.

Construction & funding contributions are tracked through the Great Projects tab.

Stewardship Landmarks

Mine
Income-focused landmark with additional bonuses in hills and mountains.

Merchant Haven
Trade-focused port increasing taxes and development growth.

Guild District
Urban economic center focused on development and construction.

Learning Landmarks

Grand University
Learning bonuses, lifestyle experience, university activity cost reduction, and cultural advancement.

Monastic Citadel
Piety, clergy opinion, and defensive bonuses.

Heavenly Observatory
Increases cultural fascination progress and scholarly output.

Diplomacy Landmarks

Hall of Ambassadors
Foreign ruler opinion and diplomatic influence.

Colosseum
Gladiatorial landmark providing opinion bonuses, knight effectiveness, and activities that can generate recruitable gladiator court guests.

Autonomous Estates
Administrative estates providing additional domain capacity.

Intrigue Landmarks

Shadow Court
Unlocks the Hand of Shadows court position and enhances hostile schemes.

Silent Citadel
Fortification and dread-focused defensive stronghold.

Blood Sanctuary
Dark landmark focused on congenital traits and bloodline enhancement.

Military Landmarks

War Assembly
Mass troop infrastructure supporting large standing forces.

Knightly Chapter
Elite knightly order focused on heavy cavalry and knight effectiveness.

Mercenary Enclave
Reduces mercenary hiring costs and unlocks unique mercenary companies.


Landmark Quality System

Every landmark is generated with one of three quality tiers:

  • Normal
  • Rare
  • Legendary

Quality is influenced by:

  • Relevant ruler lifestyle skill
  • The Architect trait
  • Investment during construction events

A ruler with high Learning is more likely to construct legendary universities, while rulers with high Martial skill create superior military strongholds.


Costs & Scaling

Landmarks are intended to remain rare and impactful throughout an entire campaign.

Base Cost

  • 500 Gold
  • 1000 Prestige

Optional Investments

  • Investment: +100 Gold
  • Grand Investment: +250 Gold
  • Commit Workforce: -20% Levi until the Landmark is built

Scaling Costs

Each constructed landmark permanently doubles the gold cost of future commissions.


Unique Men-at-Arms

Several military landmarks unlock exclusive regiments.

War Assembly

Unlocks one large-scale professional regiment:

  • Trained Levies
  • Muster Bowmen
  • Border Riders

Knightly Chapter

Unlocks one elite knightly cavalry order:

  • Order of the Golden Lance
  • Order of the Crimson Oath
  • Order of the Iron Bastion

Mercenary Enclave

Unlocks one elite mercenary company:

  • The Red Contract
  • The Broken Blades
  • The Wolf Pact

Colosseum

Unlocks:
Arena Gladiators

Cheap, aggressive infantry with high damage and low regiment size.


FAQ

Is the mod save game compatible?

Yes. The mod is designed to be safely added to existing save games.

Will the AI construct landmarks?

No. Currently the AI does not use the landmark decision.

Can landmarks be built in counties with existing special buildings?

No. Landmarks can only be constructed in counties without existing special buildings.

Are landmark qualities random?

Partially. Quality is influenced by ruler skill, traits, and investment choices.

  • A random roll from 1–100
  • Relevant ruler skill × 1.5
  • The Architect trait adds +30
  • Investments add +25 (Investment) / +80 (Major Investment) / +25 (Workforce/Levi contribution)
  • 1–120 = Normal
  • 121–200 = Rare
  • 201+ = Legendary
