# Simply Shattered
Simply Shattered fragments the world’s political map at game start,
breaking nearly every empire and kingdom into independent counts and
dukes. Religious heads survive the carnage. Then the system can be enabled for
continuous Great Holy Wars across the map, turning every
playthrough into a religious war for survival.
- Random political shatter — empires, kingdoms, and most duchies
destroyed at game start. Counts emerge as independent rulers. Configurable
shatter depth (Empire / Kingdom / Duchy / Full) - Continuous Great Holy Wars — works for ALL faith types including
shattered Catholics whose Pope title was destroyed. Rolling 10-year
cadence per faith. Tier-agnostic target system handles dynamic kingdom
titles - Holy Warlords tenet system — three configurable modes
(off / appropriate / all-warmonger) ensuring every faith can crusade - Government rule modes — feudal / clan / tribal / culture-driven
/ random / preserve admin - Religion shatter — overlays new faith assignments on top of
the new political map (configurable on/off)
This release eliminated two recurring vanilla crash bugs through
defensive scripting:
- Cascade error rate reduced 99.99% from baseline
- Dominant null-character iteration cascade eliminated via accolade
system override - Death management vanilla bug guarded

- Best for fresh games — start of campaign required for shatter to fire
- Compatible with most cosmetic / portrait mods

- Some vanilla AI hunt activity errors persist in shatter (engine-internal,
not script-fixable). Cosmetic log noise only — no gameplay impact - Japanese clan succession warnings during heavy shatter — engine handles
gracefully - Generated accolade knights may use simplified templates in shatter
contexts (visual flavor only)
