Automatic Education – Guardian & University Manager
This mod helps manage child education in Crusader Kings III. It reduces the manual work involved in assigning guardians, choosing education focuses, and sending children to university.
The normal CK3 education system stays intact, but becomes easier to manage. Children do not receive free bonuses, good outcomes are not guaranteed, and the usual game restrictions still apply.
- Finds guardians based on the child’s education focus, childhood trait, skills, and the candidate’s education.
- Takes into account character availability, relations, culture, faith, and the selected candidate pool.
- Filters out clearly unsuitable mentors, such as rivals, severely ill or dying characters.
- Allows guardian assignment to be handled automatically or through an event with several candidates.
- Can automatically choose an education focus using the child’s childhood trait and your ranked education priorities.
- Allows individual children to be excluded from Automatic Education and returned later.
- Supports university education.
- Finds a new mentor if the child’s previous guardian dies.
- Guardian selection starts at age 4, when the child already has a childhood trait.
- University checks start at age 12.
Settings are opened through a decision. Checks do not start before the settings panel is opened for the first time.
In the settings, you can choose how guardians are assigned, how education focus is selected, which children are included, who can be considered as guardian candidates, whether culture and faith filters are used, how university education is handled, and whether notifications are shown.
The priority order affects automatic education focus selection.
You can reorder all five education paths:
- Diplomacy
- Martial
- Stewardship
- Intrigue
- Learning
When focus automation is enabled, the mod checks the child’s childhood trait and chooses the highest-ranked education focus that fits. If no priority can be applied, the normal balanced fallback is used.
The default order follows the standard CK3 skill order: Diplomacy, Martial, Stewardship, Intrigue, Learning.
A specific child can be excluded from Automatic Education through the character interaction menu if you prefer to handle them manually.
Excluded children are skipped when guardians are selected, education focuses are chosen, and university education is offered. They can be returned later through the same character interaction menu or all at once from the Exclusions page.
Children can be limited to court, your own children, descendants, close family, extended family, house, or the entire dynasty.
Guardian candidates can be limited to court, court and vassals, relatives, house, or the entire dynasty.
- The mod works only for the player.
- Results of automatic assignments are shown through small notifications.
- All checks can be disabled in the settings.

The mod does not replace the base education system and should be compatible with most mods that do not heavily rework education, guardianship, or universities.
