Beak Thing Egg Food Recipes
Adds several recipes to make soem good food from Beak Thing Eggs you can get from their nests. Food designed to make it worth the risk, yet to be balanced and in synergy with other basic fodd ingredients in the game.
++ How it works? ++
As all mods editing nest items: it adds new type of egg that is of type ITEM – "Edible Beak Thing Egg", that will appear in 2-6 per nest as loot item. For save compatibility and other compatibility reasons, regular egg also preserved in the game with changed name and description – "Hatching Beak Thing Egg" (i.e. egg on latest stages of development, so not actually a decent ingredient for food), it keeps it’s original price (as valuable trophy for noles who want exotic pet) and ID, so all pre-generated nests will work without issues, but will contain only hatching eggs.
Mod also provides containers for Edible Beak Thing Eggs (non-edible ones use the same ID as original egg, so compatible with existing egg container mods) and intermediary ingredient for bakery.
++ What kind of food I can make of edible beak thing eggs? ++
Basic cooking on cooking stove will provide you with primitive recipe to make giant boiled egg chopped into pieces for transportability (10 cuts, around 250 nu per egg total). Advanced cooking opens entire variety of recipes, mostly including pie baking (5x pies per egg, 600-750 nu depending on recipe chain and filling), cookies (500 nu per egg, long production cycle, best stacking), whole fried egg with meat stripes – 300 nuegg. General balance: all recipes that involve raw egg will provide 250 nu, all recipes that will require addition of wheat flour and filling – starts from 500 nuegg.
++ Distribution in the world ++
– Edible Beak Thing Eggs will appear in new spawned nests, nests spawned before mod activation will contain only Hatching Beak Thing Eggs not edible for food production;
– Basic food recipe – Guttercut, 25 nu – will sometimes appear from barkeepers for affordable price and also will rarely spawn in food containers around the world;
– Advanced recipes – mostly made for player faction, BUT will also appear with very low chance in wealthy houses loot (for instance, in all UC noble houses), but only if the house is not visited before and loot is not yet generated before mod activation;
++ Compatibility ++
– Compatible with saves, you can load mod without issues. To unload mod from save – remove all new containers, stop food production and clear queues of new recipes, sell all food items and Edible eggs, then you can safely remove mod from save.
– Compatible with other mods, except ones aggressively changing beak thing nests, like removing original egg from NEST_ITEMS, etc. Should work with other beak thing egg recipe mods, but new eggs will be doubles and spawn separately in the same loot pool creating confusion. Please, let me know if you want compatibility patch with another similar mod and I will negotiate mod compatibility patch with original authors of corresponding mods so we can make one new item used for all mods.

++ Can I use this mod in my mod-pack? ++
I personally don’t mind if this mod will be integrated with other mods of mod-packs, but please mention original mod and authorship in your modmod-pack description, including rebalancing. Also, please, do not use icons and other materials in this mod for your own items, except you are making rebalance mod or merge this mod into yours as is.
