Custom Difficulty Mod
Do you think EU4 is too challenging? Maybe you want a calming session of map painting without having to worry about all the pesky technicalities? Maybe you’re new to the game, and want to focus on learning only a certain aspect of it, not caring about the others? Or maybe you feel the opposite, and want a challenge even greater than Ryukyu WC on very hard difficulty? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, this mod might be for you.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
The mod adds two menus triggered by decisions. One of them is for buffs, one for debuffs. There are over 2000 buffs and debuffs to choose from in total, segregated into categories- so you can get buffs as minor as 20% institution spread, or as major as 100% combat ability to all ground units. Basically every important modifier of the game has its own buff (and debuff) menu, from aggressive expansion impact to heir chance modifier. This allows you to adjust the difficulty precisely to your preference. The buffs can be removed through the same event.
Currently, there are 11 categories of buffs/debuffs (Colonial, Military, Naval, Administrative, Diplomatic, Religious, Economic, Trade, Government, Other- a miscellaneous category, and General, which contains a mix of buffs from other categories). Each of them has a certain amount of buffs/debuffs, and every one of those has 10 levels. Warning- sometimes you won’t find a certain modifier in a category you’d expect it to belong to. It can take a while for you to get used to where certain buffs can be found.Should you feel lost, see the guide in the image section above.
Obviously not Ironman compatible. Tested and working with Extended Timeline, and similar mods.
