Talents
Talents adds a passive talent tree system to Elin.
Instead of spending every platinum coin only on in-game trainers, you can invest those rare coins into long-term passive upgrades. Buy talent points with platinum, spread through a huge class tree by nearby-node adjacency, specialize into class branches and capstones, choose elemental resistance investments, and upgrade companions with their own separate talent trees.

Tourist is currently disabled. Tourist purchases from old saves are refunded and cleared by the cleanup migration.
Ascendancy is visible as a future locked framework node. It is not available yet.
The player tree is based on nearby-node progression.
Buy a class starter node, then purchase nodes next to your purchased nodes to open more options. There are no visible path connector lines; adjacent nodes become available as your build spreads outward.
You are not locked into a single branch. If your purchased path reaches another built class tree, you can continue into nearby nodes from that tree.
Refunds follow the same adjacency logic. A rank-1 class node can only be fully refunded if the rest of your purchased class nodes still connect back to a purchased class starter.
- Class starter nodes cost 1 talent point per rank and can reach rank 10.
- Regular ranked class subnodes cost 1 talent point per rank.
- Notable nodes cost 5 talent points.
- Class capstones cost 10 talent points.
- Portal nodes cost 5 talent points.
- Player elemental resistance nodes cost 2 talent points per rank and can reach rank 5.
Ranked class subnodes use diminishing returns at higher investment: ranks 1-10 give full value, ranks 11-20 give half value, and ranks 21+ give quarter value.
Player talent spending has a soft cap of 50, plus +2 cap for every 5 depth levels reached by the character.
Depth is read from the character’s recorded depth reached, so existing characters can benefit retroactively from depths reached before installing Talents.
Talent points are bought with platinum. The cost starts at 1 platinum, increases by 1 after every 5 purchased points, and caps at 10 platinum per point.
Only one class capstone can be owned at first. Every 50 depth levels reached allows one additional class capstone, up to a maximum of 3 class capstones.
If you are at your capstone limit, refund an owned capstone or reach another 50-depth milestone before buying another.
Player elemental resistance choices are limited to 2 resistance types. Once you choose 2 resistance nodes, the remaining player resistance nodes lock.
Portal nodes are travel shortcuts for the massive talent map.
- A portal costs 5 talent points.
- A portal can only be purchased after buying the class starter for that portal’s own tree.
- An unpurchased portal cannot open the destination picker.
- A purchased portal lets you choose another built class tree and moves your view there.
- Portals do not unlock class branches by themselves.
After using a portal to jump across the map, you still need a valid adjacent purchased path to buy nearby nodes.
Talents also includes companion talent trees.
Open the Party tab to select a companion and spend platinum on upgrades unique to that companion. Each companion has separate tree progress.
Companion trees include four archetypes:
- Tank: HP Guard and PV Guard.
- DPS (Melee): Strength Assault and Dexterity Tempo.
- DPS (Ranged): Precision and Mobility.
- DPS (Mage): Mana Reserve and Spell Focus.
Each companion archetype contains 50 nodes. Companion regular nodes cost 1 platinum each. Companion elemental resistance nodes cost 5 platinum each, can reach rank 5, and are limited to 3 resistance choices.
Important: Companion nodes are non-refundable. Once a specific companion buys into an archetype, that companion is locked into that archetype.
Q: There is a bug!
A: First, try re-subscribing to the mod or verifying your Elin game files to force the mod to update. If that still does not fix it, leave a comment. I am pretty active outside of work hours. Also, none of my mods support the Nightly version, so that may be the cause.
Q: Do you have any recommended builds?
A: Magic! Obviously~
Q: Can I buy every node?
A: No. The player tree has a soft spending cap, currently 50 plus depth bonuses. The goal is to make choices matter while still rewarding deeper progression.
Q: Can I use this together with Talents Legacy?
A: No. Do not run the current Talents mod and Talents Legacy at the same time. They can conflict through saved node IDs and cause progress or behavior issues.
Q: Why did my tree respec after an update?
A: Major class revamps can change node IDs, costs, rewards, or pathing. When that happens, Talents may grant a clean player-tree respec so old saves are not trapped with broken layouts.
- Talents Legacy – Do not run both versions together. The current edition and Legacy edition can conflict through node IDs and saved data.
- Nightly Elin builds – Not supported.
