Legion Initiative is a overhaul to Door Kickers 2 aimed to increase player immersion.

It is for players who:

  • Are seeking an easy set up, go to mod framework without the extra debugging, testing, or curation
  • Are seeking immersive campaigns, purpose built for growth with one unit
  • Are seeking for a fresh, polished shine upon door kicker’s mechanics, visuals, audio, and UI
  • Are seeking for a more hardcore door kickers gameplay experience with less forgiving combat, encouraging deliberate fire suppression and maneuver tactics with longer and extended gunfights
  • Are seeking to control larger tactical operations on the platoon level

This project is in Phase 1 (Pre-Alpha)
What you are playing now is a prototype direction, not the final experience.

  • Containing placeholder elements
  • With a focus on alignment, tone, and laying a foundation for deliberate tactical gameplay
  • Bugs, inconsistencies, errors, and crashes may be encountered
  • …and is subject to change

  • Mod Loader:
  • Audio Changes:
    • OST replacement
      • Replaces the soundtrack to better match tone and pacing
      • Currently replaced with Low Pass EQ’d scores from Dune, Modern Warfare 2019, XCOM, Sicario, and more
    • Integrations to silenced Comms Check Voicelines and other actions
    • Using dependencies, replaces friendly and enemy voices from the games Insurgency 2014 and Insurgency Sandstorm.
  • Visual and UI Refinement:
    • Removes Social Media icons
    • Presents a cleaner and more subdued main menu
    • Night Visuals:
      • Removes green lasers from most primary weapons when operating at night
      • Outside the tube, NVG shine is vastly dimmer
      • Using dependencies, replaces the UI with Deluke’s UI Overhaul and other tweaks and integrations
    • Grenade & Explosive Visuals:
      • Handhelds and explosives now have a hidden blast radius
      • Grenades no longer blink red
        • (Watch for Realistic Grenades and Explosives & Backblast!)
      • Grenades now kick up half a second of smoke and dust
  • Balancing Tweaks:
    • Increased consequences upon being hit
    • Increased effectiveness of cover
    • Doctrines progress more slowly now, earning only 1 per squad level as well as some are now locked behind squad levels
    • The Mission is everything: XP gains have been changed, only increasing and decreasing based on mission performance
  • Gameplay Tweaks:
    • Deliberate Pacing:
      • Doors and entry points open significantly slower when using mechanical means
      • Turning speed is slower
      • Interactions, breaching, and utility usage have been slowed down
      • Being suppressed and shocked have greater thresholds lasting longer
    • Dangerous Combat:
      • Projectiles now go through all doors
      • Both your units and all enemy units can now use suppression
      • Suppression is more focused and effective (both ways), with high penalties on seeing nearly allies hit (morale)
    • FOV has been increased
    • Enemy grenades now reflect Rake5000’s Realistic Grenades and Explosives. (yeah, be careful!)
    • Grenades have a larger radius of 15m as well as a stronger concussive factor
    • HVT’s, Civilians, and VIP’s are more skittish once threatened

    …and much more…
