AI General: Unified Tactics
AI General: Unified Tactics is a tactical battlefield delegation mod for Total War: WARHAMMER III. It lets players delegate selected units or the full army to an AI battlefield assistant while keeping manual control available at any time.
- AI-button delegation for selected units or full-army control
- Engage and release behavior during battles
- Reactive battlefield checks for tactical decision-making
- Support for lords, heroes, casters, cavalry, ranged units, artillery, monsters, and infantry
- Lord and hero positioning support
- Cycle-charge support for cavalry and mobile units
- Anti-large brace behavior for appropriate infantry
- Retreat logic for units under pressure
- Reliable delegation in settlement and siege defenses (full defending army now attaches correctly)
- Quest-battle compatibility, including victory/objective handoff on scripted missions
- Additional safeguards for WARHAMMER III 6.x scripting and UI inconsistencies
v24.35j++fk (hotfix). A lightweight ‘smart skin’ over the native battle AI: it observes the game engine and nudges it only where needed, staying out of the way otherwise. This build fixes a wrong-side delegation edge case in attacker/main-only battle shapes, where the AI button could report success while resolving the enemy alliance. Fresh runtime proof shows the hotfix handoff completing with ai_list=20 and planner=20. Includes the prior fixes for ambush full-army delegation, settlement/siege defense delegation, quest-battle victory/objective handling, and reduced script-log/CPU pressure during quest battles.
The AI marker may not always update correctly on individual unit cards. A missing marker does not always mean AI control is inactive. The best indicator is unit behavior: if units begin acting after the AI button is clicked, delegation is active. If you release AI control and press Stop, the army should halt. Clicking the AI button again should allow delegation to resume.
For best results, run this mod without other battle AI controller mods active.
