Description:

The first time they die, they serve the enemy.
The second time, they serve you.

How it works

A colonist who clears their first dimensional Gate awakens as a Shadow Monarch. Every enemy they kill and every fresh corpse they find can be raised as a permanent shadow under your command. Shadows fight, work your colony, and grow stronger with every kill. When the monarch falls, the army doesn’t dissolve. It waits.

───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Two psycast paths

Both unlock in the Utility psycast tab and require VPE.

Shadow Monarch is the core necromancer path. Seven abilities for raising, commanding, and destroying through your army: Arise, Soul Rend, Death Sense, Shadow Recall, Shadow Banish, Mass Arise, and Shadow Dominion.

Shadow Sovereign is the advanced path. Sixteen more abilities built around teleportation, void-draining, full phantom form, and total battlefield control.

The shadow army

Raise anything that falls: humans, animals, even modded creatures. Your shadows sort themselves into three kinds:

Shadow Soldiers are risen fighters who climb the ranks Knight → Elite → General → Marshal as they rack up kills.
Battle Beasts are risen war animals with their own ladder: Pack Hunter → Ravager → Alpha → Apex Predator.
Passive Shadows are the fallen who can’t fight. They labor for the colony instead.

Permanent: shadows keep full work priorities and schedules, acting as colonists when not in battle.
Regeneration: shadows heal rapidly and ignore environmental hazards like vacuum, heat, and cold.
Revival: when a shadow dies, the monarch can spend psyfocus to bring them back.
Guard posts & training: station shadows to hold a position, and train the monarch daily for a stacking power bonus.

Dimensional Gates

Rifts open on your map on a timer. Clear the dungeon inside before it runs out, or the gate breaks open and the threat pours onto your colony. The first E-rank Gate cleared is what awakens your monarch.

Six ranks, E through S, scaling with your wealth and colony age. Higher gates mean deadlier enemies and better loot. S-rank guarantees an artifact, but it will gut an unprepared colony.

───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Settings

Almost nothing is hardcoded. Toggle gates by rank, tune enemy strength, timers, and rewards, and adjust shadow caps, revival cost, training targets, and ability costs to taste.
