More Slave Trade
This mod changes slavery in Victoria 3 within the game mechanics, allowing slaves to be used anywhere instead of laborers (factories, etc.), increasing their import (janky, see below), and raising the base amount of slaves under Debt Slavery and Colonial Slavery laws.
- Base weekly import: Increased from a modest 100 to 2000 slaves per tick/marker per week.
- Random import multiplier from 1 to 3.
- The number of vacant jobs that slaves can fill required to start importing is now 100.
- The population threshold to preserve in a decentralized state’s province has been reduced to 25,000, but import drops linearly down to this value starting from a population of 100,000.
The slave import mechanics in the game are still quite janky. The state selects provinces randomly (albeit with multipliers), which can lead to either highly inefficient or maximum imports. While large nations shouldn’t suffer major losses from this, it might halt imports completely for small countries, and there is no fix for this…
Import directly depends on available jobs, including proportional employment (where regular laborers/slaves cannot work because highly qualified/skilled workers have not been hired), the population of the seller’s province, market access in your province, RNG, and many other factors.
- Doubled the rate of enslaving your own population.
- For Colonial Slavery, the slave limit from the population is set to 75% in unincorporated states; for Debt Slavery, it is set to 50% in all provinces/states.
Unemployed slaves become free, which may result in a province having no slaves at all. Also, pops with a Standard of Living (SoL) higher than 15 cannot become slaves.
I implemented this using code injection or adding new code, which shouldn’t affect compatibility with other mods, though it might not work for buildings added by mods. Compatibility should also persist across game versions, unless new features do not support slaves.
