Description:

This mod aims to increase realism of the game by reducing battle duration without changing balance or other aspects of gameplay.

CK3 is notorious for its absurd battle durations which lasts few in game weeks. I have reduced it to 1 week by maximizing realism. Siege battles are untouched and may be implemented in future as it has kind of realistic durations. Also, retreat mechanism arranged accordingly. Now you can try to retreat after first day of the battle.

For example:
Maneuvering phase lasts 1 day now.
Skirmishing + Main battle phases last 1-2 days.
Pursuit phase lasts 1-2 days
Around 7-8 days in total which is totally realistic for medieval type battles. These phases take weeks as default settings.

Also I have fixed another absurdity, Pursuit Phase casualties are now as much as main battle casualties at minimum. In medieval battles, armies generally lost their majority of men during retreating/pursuit phase.

This mod does not change main combat balance but only increases pursuit phase casualties to realistic numbers. Same main battle casualties would be happening in default game’s prolonged battles.

Another change made to first level of game speed as at lowest game speed, a day will last longer for player to catch up with battles. Old level one default game speed is now second level and so on…

IMPORTANT: Strategic balance naturally changed due to fast combat. Now, NPC and player character must think twice before commencing a battle and plan their reinforcements and their logistics carefully!

This mod affect both player and npc.

This mod is compatible with save games and everything else as long as you put this lowest possible in mod order.

NEW UPDATE: No more 2 days of mustering a great army but battling for few weeks absurdity! I have added realistic mustering/gathering phase for player and npc armies. Now it takes around 40 days for big realms and 5-10 days for small realm which is realistic for medieval type armies. Have fun!

Now I believe the mod is complete and I may improve siege times a bit more towards realism. Any ideas are welcome.
