Herald’s Start Positions – Morghur in Bretonnia
Herald’s Start Positions – Morghur in Bretonnia is a small lua script start position mod which moves Morghur the Shadowgave from Estalia to Bastonne in Bretonnia, aligning more closely with his lore, which is primarily connected to Athel Loren and Bretonnia.
This mod was developed alongside HSP – Alberic in Bretonnia and HSP – Athel Loren, to provide greater faction variety in and around Bretonnia.

The main changes of this mod are the following:
– Morghur starts the campaign in Bastonne in Bretonnia, at war with the Bretonnian minor faction of Bastonne, or Montfort if using Mixu’s Legendary Lords;
– Morghur is no longer at war with Estalia, his original starting enemy, or with Cataph’s Bilbali and Estalia if using Cataph’s Southern Realms;
– the starting mission lines and victory objectives for Morghur have been adjusted to his new start position.
I recommend using this mod alongside Herald’s Start Positions – Alberic in Bretonnia, bringing back Alberic to Bordeleaux from Bregonne in Lustria, and Herald’s Start Positions – Athel Loren, adjusting the starting enemies of factions in and around Athel Loren, and introducing a minor Ogre faction in the area.
I also recommend using these mods together with other Herald’s Start Positions mods, and my mods in general, as they are all being developed in conjunction.
Herald’s Start Positions are now also available as a single subscription mod compilation, which will be continually updated with every future HSP mod release and update.

This mod is fully compatible with Mixu’s Unlocker and Immortal Empires Expanded. It was not developed keeping new faction mods in mind, except Cataph’s Southern Realms and Mixu’s Legendary Lords. The Victory Conditions Overhaul mod overwrites the vanilla victory conditions, including the changes made by this mod.
Herald’s Start Positions mod series should work with mods like SFO: Grimhammer III, which rebalance different aspects of the game, but generally do not touch the start positions of the factions.
Credits go to Porkenstein and Swissbob for the script framework which I’m using across my start position lua script mods, and to nopeace.net for the map I used to show the territorial changes in Bretonnia.
