Herald’s Starting Diplomacy Mods – Golg Maneater
HSDM – Golg Maneater is a small mod for the Immortal Empires and IE Expanded campaigns, which randomly turns either (1) Ostland or (2) Nordland into a starting enemy for Golg Maneater when he is controlled by the AI. It disables CA’s scripted declaration of war on Nordland, meaning that he can’t end up in war with both at the beginning of a campaign.
This mod works well on its own, how it was first imagined. I also recommend using it alongside Herald’s Start Positions – Kislev & Norsca, which rebalances the starting geopolitics in Kislev and Norsca through carefully repositioning the factions in the region.
Furthermore, I recommend using these mods with my other Herald’s Start Positions mods, and my mods in general, as they are all being developed in conjunction.
Herald’s Start Positions are now also available as a single subscription mod compilation, which will be continually updated with every future HSP mod release and update.
This mod is fully compatible with Mixu’s Unlocker and Immortal Empires Expanded. It was not developed keeping any new faction mods in mind.
Herald’s Start Positions mod series should work with mods like SFO: Grimhammer III, which rebalance different aspects of the game, but generally do not touch the start positions of the factions.
Credits go to Porkenstein and Swissbob for the script framework which I’m using across my start position lua script mods, and to Acephelos for helping me out with randomisation for the first two cases explored in this mod.
