Neighbouristan Plus
Think plugging Insurgents has gotten a little too easy? Why not try on a real military and put your CAGshit to use! Neighbouristani forces have crossed the northern border into Nowheraki and are dead set on annexing whatever they can hold. It’s your job to kick ’em out!
Neighbouristan+ contains 60+ new enemies, armed with both vanilla and new weaponry, present in multiple distinct RMG groups. In addition, nine base game DK2 levels have been altered to replace Insurgent enemies with N+ enemies. These levels comprise of small, medium, and large missions — with nighttime missions also being included.
Note: Each level has a regular version and a "1:1 Alt" version, which just means that soldiers in the regular ones won’t blindfire like in the vanilla base game levels and the "1:1 Alt" versions include blindfiring soldiers since they’re 1:1 exact copies, blindfiring rates and all. Is it unrealistic to have trained soldiers blindfiring battle rifles? Probably. Does it make the mission harder to have a bunch of ducked enemies spraying G3s at you? Probably!
Neighbouristan+ adds a new enemy faction, the infantry of the Neighbouristani military. NRA soldiers are split across two primary and two secondary groups which have their own unique weaponry, uniforms, and more.
- Neighbouristani Grunts
Neighbouristani Grunts comprise of the majority of the NRA’s strength. Armed with a menagerie of retro European and Soviet-era weaponry and armour, they may not be the most up-to-date soldiers around, but a 7.62 round can still drop targets no matter what year the gun came out. Grunts can be identified by their classic green fatigues, grey scarves, and dark brown low-cut helmets. - Grunt Commanders
Neighbouristani Commanders are the NCOs for the main infantry force. While they’re armed with similar arms as their Grunt underlings, their access to optics makes them far more formidable. In addition, Commanders also provide a passive increased aiming buff to all who are within close distance to them, so be on the lookout for newly found crackshots. Commanders can be identified by their modern fatigues, grey scarves, and signature brown berets. - Phoenix Elites
While not as numerous as regular Grunts, the Phoenix Elites of the NRA are better armed, armoured, and trained compared to the average soldier. These Elites have much newer and more powerful weapons at their disposal, including high-powered optics and armour piercing rounds, making them very deadly. As Elite Phoenix detachments carry a certain status back over in Neighbouristan, Elite soldiers carry a passive suppression buff which can be given to other enemies, just like base game Veteran Insurgents. Phoenix Elites can be identified by their woodland camouflaged uniforms, red scarves, and brown high-cut helmets. - Phoenix Captains
The NRA’s best of the best. Rarely seen, highly trained, and quick on the draw, Phoenix Captains represent the highest echelon of troop that Neighbouristan sends out on missions deemed to be of high importance. Armed with high accuracy and high right of fire weapons while also possessing both an aiming and suppression buff, Phoenix Captains can drop a target in an instant. Captains can be identified by their woodland camouflaged uniforms, red scarves, and signature red berets.
Serving as another tenticle of Neighbouristan’s intelligence agency, the SSI Covert Ops serve as clandestine agents operating in deep cover behind enemy lines. If the SSI Spectres are a hammer, the Cover Ops are a lightly armoured and highly mobile scalpel. Despite packing primarily small, easily concealable firearms, they can bring the hurt to the unsuspecting friendly.
Neighbouristani Troopers are an experimental endeavor by NRA high command. Door kicking has always been a thrown in every army’s side, and so the idea of a unit which was CQC-oriented and urban combat-focused gained popularity enough to warrant limited deployment. Troopers have access to more ‘speciality’ weapons, most of which are short and easy to manuver with — guns perfect for room clearing. Watch your corners for these guys!
