[WOTC] LW2 Weapon Redux – SMGs
NStriker’s Long War SMG Pack refreshed with cooked assets, new additions, and some tweaks:
— Gave the CV SMG a new higher pitched fire sound instead of using the CV assault rifle’s.
— Shrunk some textures that didn’t need to be at 2k res, saving more file size.
— Set the MG SMG to use the CV fire animation so it has a higher ROF.
— Most textures weren’t assigned to the correct LOD Groups.
— The NRM textures were set to the wrong compression setting.
— Fixed schematic costs being higher than the vanilla assault rifle’s.
— SMG Weapon Category can be changed in the XComLW_SMGPack_WotC file.
— The CV SMG’s Crossbar can be removed in the XComLW_SMGPack_WotC file.
— The SO Bridge Mod has been implemented directly.
— Built-in support for Underbarrel Attachments.
The DLC Name of the mod is unchanged from the original as are all the weapons’ internals, so it SHOULD be safe to switch out the original for this one, probably.
I also switched out the CV and MG’s materials to use WOTC’s UnitWeapon_M over Vanilla’s WeaponCustomizable_TC. They wouldn’t compile correctly on my end otherwise, but i’ve since fixed this. No reason to change them back as i’ve edited the textures to work better with the new material, though.
Due to being cooked, you can’t open the content .UPKs with the SDK. However, i have the raw project files available for download here:

Do note, you’ll have to do some re-configuring to the project if you also want to compile it on your end, as the project is set up to specifically compile on a Linux system using VSCode, unless you somehow also use a set up like this.
