Moss Lake, Wyoming, 2030s
Welcome to a little side project/ companion map for Kirwin 2030’s. A 23.5 KM x 23.5 KM section of north west Wyoming. Once again created with GRM, and fixes done in Eden Editor, as time allows.
I hope to eventually have a small campaign/mission pack focused around this series of maps, but we shall see.
With more variety in the terrain, from alpine lakes to valley wetlands, and the mountain peaks up above, it can be unforgiving. The WSA’s camp along the Buffalo Fork River is one the only man-made structures in the area, however a few reinforced roads cross the southern edge. But again, it is mostly back country trails crossing the landscape into the wild mountains and hills. From dense forests, alpine lakes, and rocky mountaintops, nothing is certain.
-LORE AND SUCH-
In the mid 2030’s, global unrest began to grip the globe. Cities became unruly, and once former ghost towns in the Old West became home again, those who knew how to survive continued society. In this region, a group of the state government in exile became the WSA(Wyoming State Army), and works to maintain the law as it was before. Here at Moss Lake, the WSA established their primary base for operations in this part of the Rockies, focused primarily on helicopter operations, due to the harsh terrain while Kirwin, some 50 miles to the east, maintains its auxiliary outposts in collaboration.
A local militia which has grown in influence, the Three Forks Boys are a group of more or less unorganized meetings of anti-invaders/hunters. They wage more of an insurgency compared to the organized military structure of the WSA, but they work toward the same goal of maintaining peace and stability in the region, although their methods may differ.
As the world fell apart around them, former mining settlements became new homes to people seeking life away from the mess. However, conflict does spill into the Rockies from time to time…
