Improved pop ratio for settlements
Compatible with 1.3 Livy
Do you also find it strange that settlements start with diverse population ratios but slowly become 100% enslaved?
The world outside the big cities didn’t consist of 100% slaves!
Noble estates, Farm estates, Villages, Towns and administrative centers. These filled the rural world between the bigger cities, this mod is made to reflect that.
Default pop ratio in settlements is changed from 100% slaves to 10% Citizens 20% Freemen 70% Slaves.
The settlement Barracks building has been changed to reflect these changes from 15% freemen ratio to 50% freemen ratio. A settlement with a Barracks building will now have a ratio of 5% Citizens 60% Freemen and 35% Slaves, an appropriate ratio for your rural recruitment hubs!
The Mine and Slave estate now also gives +50% desired slaves ratio, increasing it from 70 to 85%. Farming Settlement doesn’t give ratio, but slaves needed for surplus increased to -7 from -5. This is to alleviate the new difficulty in reaching resource surplus with the new ratios.
This should make games more balanced as well, as you will struggle less to get a decent research ratio without filling your cities exclusively with libraries.
This will apply to tribes as well, but I have increased the global tribesmen ratio from 5% to 20% for tribes to compensate. This means there will be less tribesmen in settlements and more in cities, the total amount shouldn’t be too far from vanilla. Still trying to find how to change the pop ratio for a specific province rank for a specific government type.
These values haven’t been thoroughly balance tested so please leave some feedback on how it can be improved further and leave a like and favorite if you enjoy it!
