Description:
Taiwu Save Repair

Author: Umbrella
Game: The Scroll of Taiwu: The Veil of the Celestial Sound
MOD Version: 0.48
Supported Game Version: 1.0.49

This is a conservative save-file inspection and repair mod for The Scroll of Taiwu.

After a save is loaded, it automatically checks for certain broken references that may cause errors, red text, month-end issues, or future save risks. A report will be shown after entering the game.

Its goal is not to fix every red-text error, nor to organize, optimize, or rebuild your save. It only attempts to handle confirmed broken references that can no longer be resolved in the current game environment and may cause future loading or calculation problems if left in place.

0.4.8 Update Notes

Updated compatibility for The Scroll of Taiwu 1.0.49.
Strengthened safe checks after loading a save.
Improved detection and handling for invalid building resident / character references.
Refined the repair report flow to reduce unnecessary player-facing noise.
Fixed cases where the report file could fail to generate or the frontend could wait until timeout.
Cleaned the release package: local settings, runtime reports, and Git files are not included, so player configurations will not be overwritten.

0.4.7 Update Notes

* Fixed cases where broken equipment references could still cause month-end errors.
* Improved item checks for character equipment, inventory, and active item slots.
* Added a conservative pre-month-end check to keep invalid item references out of combat-power calculation.
* Improved report freshness checks to avoid treating stale reports as the current scan result.
* Repairs still only clear character-local bad references and do not delete treasury or global item data.

0.4.6 Update Notes

* Improved invalid item checks for character equipment, inventory, and active item slots.
* Fixed broken character item references caused by missing item bodies or owner/container mismatches.
* Repairs only clear character-local bad references and do not delete treasury or global item data.
* Improved scan confirmation after entering the world for better manual save/load mod compatibility.

0.3.6-0.4.4Update Log

Please see the change notes for details.

Core Principles

  • It does not automatically save the game.
  • It does not directly modify binary save files.
  • It does not overwrite the player’s mod settings.
  • Scan-only mode does not write any save data.
  • By default, it only automatically handles broken references that can be clearly identified.
  • If a problem cannot be confirmed as safe to repair, it is only written into the report and will not be modified automatically.
  • Every automatic repair item is checked again before writing, and verified again after writing.

Items Currently Repaired by Default

  • Characters referencing martial arts, skills, traits, or other configurations that no longer exist.
  • Equipment slots or consumed-item slots referencing items that cannot be resolved in the current environment.
  • Special effects / Buff objects that fail to load, have missing configurations, or are bound to characters that no longer exist.
  • References such as organizations, kidnappers, or team leaders that clearly point to non-existent objects.
  • If the current Taiwu’s equipped martial arts exceed the current practice-capacity limit, the mod calls the game’s own method to unequip the excess martial arts.

Items Reported Only by Default

To avoid damaging story states, temporary states, or valid data from other mods, the following items are not automatically repaired by default:

  • Abnormal character locations.
  • Abnormal faction fields.
  • Inventory cases where the item template still exists, but the item instance does not.
  • Trait effects that do not match the character’s current traits.
  • Equipment refinement effects marked as invalid.
  • Other abnormal states that cannot be clearly identified as broken references.

These items will appear in the report for players or mod authors to review.

Usage Recommendations

  • For the first use, it is recommended to enable scan-only mode first and check whether the report looks reasonable.
  • If the report says repairs have been performed, please first confirm that characters, items, month-end behavior, and other in-game behavior look normal before manually saving.
  • If the report says the repair tool encountered an error or failed post-repair verification, please do not save immediately. It is recommended to reload the save and provide the full report.
  • If you encounter a suspected issue, please provide the report file:

Mod/TaiwuSaveRepair/data/runtime/RepairReport.json

This file can be opened with Notepad, Notepad++, VS Code, or any other text editor.
If the file is long, you do not need to paste everything. Please prioritize the top summary and any entries containing “error,” “verification failed,” or “report only.”

What It Cannot Do

  • It cannot repair binary save files that are already too damaged to be loaded.
  • It cannot guarantee that all red-text errors will disappear.
  • It cannot guarantee that a save will remain completely normal after all mods are uninstalled.
  • It cannot restore mod content that has already been removed.
  • It will not automatically save the “repaired” result for the player.

Compatibility Notes

This mod does not actively modify other mods.

If another mod adds items, martial arts, traits, organizations, Buffs, or special effects, uninstalling or updating that mod may leave residual references in old saves. This mod will try to handle the parts that can be clearly identified as no longer resolvable.

If a piece of data only “looks abnormal” but may be valid data from another mod, it will be reported by default and will not be handled automatically.

Safety Notice

This mod is a public-test conservative repair tool.

Its design principle is:

repair precisely when it is safe to do so;
write a report when uncertain.

Before using it on an important save, backing up the save is still strongly recommended.

If you encounter red text, repair failure, abnormal reports, or possible false positives, please provide the full report content whenever possible so that the issue can be investigated.
