Let’s say what we’re all thinking: EU5’s terrain textures are rough. Washed out, muddy, and flat — a step down from a game Paradox released six years earlier.
So I fixed it with Paradox’s own art. This mod integrates Imperator: Rome’s terrain textures into EU5 — the warm grass, the sun-baked deserts, the proper Mediterranean rock — carefully mapped onto every one of EU5’s terrain types and converted to the game’s formats, so it just works.
What’s included:
NEW DETAIL ZOOM
Increases the zoom distance at which map details — buildings, towns, and settlements — stay visible.
NEW BUILDINGS UPDATE
I took all the building pictures and made them bigger, sharper, and more colorful.
Bigger — every picture is now twice the size, so buildings look less blurry up close
Sharper — edges and details were crisped up a lot (maxed out, per your "extreme" request)
More colorful and brighter — colors are much more vivid, so buildings pop and look like they glow
Full terrain retexture — all 71 terrain textures replaced with Imperator: Rome’s art (grass, forest floors, deserts, dunes, beaches, rock, wetlands, sediments and more)
Lighting overhaul — sharper, higher-contrast rendering with reworked shadows, ambient occlusion, and bloom
Sea rework — deeper, darker ocean color with tuned reflections
Vegetation pass — richer, more colorful trees and grass
