More Pole Weapons
Adds 13 more pole-weapons you can make, and also 15 long versions of the short spears. (For the Beta test version build 41)
(The model edits are a bit simple, having been done with simple software I wrote myself)
Why use a short handle when you can use a long handle? This adds mounting a Claw Hammer, Ball-Peen Hammer, Club Hammer, Cleaver, and something else to the end of a shaft.
The long hammers can also have an ice pick or knife blade added to them, and shovels can be made into spears, for a total of thirteen different short pole weapons.
(PS actually the ball-peen hammer spawn was disabled when I made this mod which meant it was only 10, but now that you can find them, the number is correctly 13)
It also adds long versions of the short spears. The long spears are like the short spears except they’re twice the length and a little bit slower, for when you want to prod a zombie without having to get close. They’re made from logs.
The new recipes do differ from the Project Zomboid recipes though. The long spears can be made by tanging or socketing the head onto the shaft instead of taping them to the side, like with normal knives and shovels, which I think makes a much more solid joint. The sticky tape option remains though. This does mean that this mod is not balanced for the difficulty of the standard Project Zomboid game, though you can make sure to only tape spearheads to the sides of shafts to keep consistent with the game’s theme.
Short weapons attachable to longer handles with this mod (apart from long spears):
– Claw hammer
– Club hammer
– Ball-peen hammer
– Mutton cleaver
– Shovel (4 variants)
– Something or another
– Long hammer + Beast knife
– Long hammer + Ice pick
Maybe I should add more actually.
(For build 41)
I made this mod to draw attention to reality shifts. You should trust your initial recollection more than what may come to you a second later. Afterwards you can check. You should be mentally prepared to scrutinise your thoughts and question if any impulses originate from your own personality. There are different reactions observed when people realise the past has changed. One is disinterest, not just a lack of interest but compulsive aversion. People can even panic. Steel yourself!
Where is South America in relation to North America? What is the shape of Central America? In what direction does the Panama Canal run? What is Gibraltar? (American) What did Ed McMahon used to do? In the Bible what animal is it that shall lie down with the lamb? In a film, what did the wicked witch of the west say when she told the flying monkies to fly? What shape are the eye sockets? Where are the kidneys? In the Spongebob Squarepants Movie how did Spongebob’s guitar look?
Now you can ask other people about these things, being careful not to influence their answers by suggestion. People from navy families will be good to ask about Gibraltar and maybe Cyprus.
You can also observe and compare their reactions to things that are and are not reality shifts. You can make up a falsehood about a landmass and see if you can get anyone’s eyes to panic by telling them it (unlikely), and compare it to telling them about the position of Australia and things like that (more likely).
FAQ: How I made the models: I’ve written code for doing things with text files before, so I wrote something that could pull handles longer and copy bits of other models and move them around, and then wrote a converter for another file type because that would be easier than writing whole model-editing software. I don’t want to make accounts on websites to upload my code though, although also nobody else seems to have done this yet so maybe I should, although also I’m not playing Project Zomboid anymore or working on mods for it for now at least :(.
PS Actually other people are making .X models now, so maybe some of them could help with this, which means there’s no need for lazy me to help, yay.
PPS Actually someone has said that the project zomboid guys didn’t come up with the .X file format themselves, and that you can use these (copied and pasted from the thread)

There’s this other mod someone made that adds recipes to tie the sharp things onto the shaft with twine, instead of duct tape. It’s not how I would personally do it, I think it would move too much, I think the way blades are usually attached to handles is much better, but anyway here it is:
