Classic XCOM Armor
Classic XCOM Armor, inspired by the Personal Armor of UFO: Enemy Unknown. Male and female versions.
Note: I did not create the armor, I merely ported the model with minor edits into the Xcom 2 skeleton – see credits.
The mod is purely visual, usable with Kevlar/Plated/Powered tiers. Available for WotC hero classes.
Separated into individual pieces. Arms and shoulders are separate for left/right slots. Hood is available in helmet/upper/lower face prop slot. Earpiece is available in upper/lower face prop slot.
Three tint versions: original purple, vanilla style tintable (armor overlay uses primary color) and GrimStyle tintable (underlay uses primary color).
Hood has two versions – "Original/Buzz Cut" and "Medium/Long Hair". Original fit is suitable for bald heads and buzz cuts, and long hair fit is suitable for pretty much any other vanilla hairstyle. If using any of the vanilla hairstyles, it’s recommended to use the long hair version of the hood in the helmet slot to allow proper version of the hair to be shown, though some of the longer hairs work well with the original fit aswell.
Hood morphs properly into all the vanilla soldier faces.
- Why is this mod over 400 MB?
The original textures are very high-res, and the tintable versions double the size of this mod. There is absolutely no extra or superfluous data in the mod.
- The armor in this mod is more or less a one-piece suit, so using the body parts with gear from other mods/base game may cause clipping.
- Although mostly eliminated, there might still be some slight clipping in the neck/head area of the hood with extreme neck angles or special facial expressions.
- Similar to other mods, failure to use invisible part mods and/or Unrestricted Customization may cause some body parts to be "stuck". This mod does NOT add any pieces to the "extra" armors (Resistance, TLE etc.).
- The hair fallbacks are not perfect, so some clipping may be present in rare cases even with the "long hair" version of the hood
- syaped @ artstation – model and textures. Huge thanks for the superb textures and mesh, your work made porting the armor as easy as it can be.
- Baldemon – Acquiring the permission to port the armor
- Baldemon, E3245 and others @ xcom2mods reddit and discord – the idea for the mod.
