Alpha Protocol: Scarlet Lake Squadmate (WOTC)

This mod adds models for photojournalist/assassin Scarlet Lake from Alpha Protocol as soldier armour, with an added custom head (requires the Community Highlander).

The creation of this mod was inspired by the Alpha Protocol Scarlet Lake Voicepack mod by PsyCHo, which is obviously a recommended companion mod.

Support has been added for robojumper’s Add Part Names mod, which enables the torso, legs, and arm armour parts to be properly labelled with their name in their relevant sub-menus.

I highly recommend the use of RealityMachina’s Wear Armour on the Avenger (for WotC) mod. With the use of that mod your soldiers will wear whatever armour you have equipped them with inside the Avenger, rather than the underlay outfit they wear by default. You may also wish to use Mertius’s SWR Full Crew Avenger WotC mod to increase the numbers of soldiers wandering around between missions. Make sure to follow the instructions regarding reinitialising your settings to make it take effect.

Unfortunately there will not be a legacy/base game version of this mod. This is due to the inability to hide the default soldier teeth and eyeballs with an invisible head and no option for adding fully custom head models. Plus it’s just too much of a pain to support two completely different versions, especially for a version of the game I no longer play.

The custom head is available under Race 0. The main torso option is intended for use with it. A second torso option has been provided to fit vanilla heads.

There may be some clipping/bad deformation with the scarf during extreme bending, such as crouching/injured animations. The source model is available with separate bones for the scarf, so I may consider a version with physics, although that brings its own series of problems.

The textures are not the best. Although the sources are (surprisingly) 2K for the most part, they were made for a traditional Blinn/Phong shader so there is a lot of baked lighting that is difficult to remove.

The mod makes use of the Highlander’s added functions for a given head to suppress selection of certain body parts. In this case, the head will disable selection of hair, since it uses the source model’s hair as part of the head model.

Pictures feature Pavonis Interactive’s LW2 coil guns from KnaveOfSpades’s Coilguns for War of the Chosen mod. Content not included in this mod.
