Melee Attachments/Upgrades
Aren’t you tired of fixing a scope to your sword? Doesn’t it feel kind of dumb/unrealistic?
Well, fret no more friends, custom Melee Attachments are here!
Eight new melee attachments/upgrades, with the standard 3 tiers of Basic, Advanced and Superior:
1- Frames, that add + mobility
2- Scramblers that decrease your detection radius
3- Targeting Modules that pierce armor
4- Crossguard Taptic Modules that do extra damage to confused, disoriented, stunned, robotstunned, bound, frozen and dazed enemies
5- Pressurized Dispensers that do extra damage to burning, acid, poisoned and bleeding enemies
6- Feedback Capacitators that return a guaranteed but small amount of damage back to your attacker in a defined range (projectiles and beam only)
7- Psionic Network Trackers that motivate allies for +aim on the same turn you get a kill (except on the Lost)
8- Pommel Micro-Motors that add damage to melee reaction attacks like Bladestorm
Full list of effects can be found on this Google sheet [docs.google.com]
Pretty much all these values can be freely edited through *.ini config.
Natively, the mod supports the following weapon categories:
- sword
- combatknife
- glaive
- Odachi
- Wakizashi
- throwingknife
Any kind of visual attachments in tactical missions. I’m just not good at that.
There are visuals for the armoury, compatible with:
Vanilla+WOTC+TLE weapons (duh)
Scimitars from [WOTC] Celatid Alien
Katanas from WotC Katana Pack Reloaded
Jetstream Sam’s weapons from [WOTC] MGR Jetstream Sam Squadmate REVENGEANCE REDUX
The Axes from WotC TheAxeMod
Combat Knives from WOTC LW2 Combat Knife Replacer
Vorpal Blade from [WOTC] Armored Viper
Blades from [WOTC] Metal Gear Raiden Customization Pack
The Swords from (N:A) NieR: Automata – 2B’s Outfit [WOTC]
Genji’s melee weapons from Genji Redux
Glaives from [WotC] Glaive- Massive melee Weapon(ver.1.2)
KNOWN BUGS
The added mobility from the Frames attachments/upgrades won’t show up in the armoury stats or through F1 in tactical missions. This is a UI bug, the mobility is still enhanced.
FAQ
Q: How do I get my hands on these?
A: from enemies’ timed loot drops. You have a 35% chance of getting a melee attachment on any drop. This is on top of regular loot, it will never replace a vanilla weapon upgrade. The Google sheet linked above also contains the item names if you want to add them through the console.
Q: Vanilla? LWOTC? RPGO?
A: No, no, yes.
Q:Can I use this mid-campaign?
A: sure.
BIG THANKS TO:
RustyDios, which should really be considered co-author of this mod after all the debugging he volunteered (or got nagged into).
The whole crew on the Discord, but most especially Iridar for his infinite patience with a modding noob like meself, NotSoLoneWolf for explaining loooots of concepts to me, shiremct for a big help getting me started with effects, etc etc ad nauseam. Definitely couldn’t have done it without you folks. Extra thanks to NeIVIeSiS for upgraded visuals and for providing more lore-friendly descriptions.
