Spardan Items
Our 21st of March 2026 (v1.2.3) update features 2 new terrestrial dungeons for players to encounter on their travels. The Modular Reactor dungeon (spawning on Forest, Desert, Tundra, and Scorched planets) and the rare Comet Impact microdungeon (spawning in Alien, Desert, Tundra, Volcanic, and Midnight biomes). Both are WIP, but fully functional and tested with a handful of potential configurations.
Aside from that, a few weapon reworks, 2 new weapons, and a new low-level armor set.
You can view the full list of patch notes in the Change Notes at the top of the page.
-For the people asking about /spawnitem commands, I keep a list of them in a Discussion Thread and try to keep it up-to-date.
-Transformation techs are handled via deployment script. This doesn’t mean a lot to most players, but the short and sweet is that if there is an error in deployment, across any mod, then none of it will work. Most issues of players not transforming upon using them will be due to some error or conflict in another mod’s deployment scripts. We did our best to ensure that there shouldn’t be any conflicts with our armor swapping mechanic’s nomenclature, but we can’t control or test if a mod you really like happens to have a syntax error that slipped through the cracks. Just something to be aware of. If you suddenly don’t have access to the transformations anymore, it may be due to a new mod install or update.
Spardan Items is a loveletter to series that I loved growing up and well into adulthood. Heavy influences from Devil May Cry, Onimusha, Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter, and many other points of inspiration. The primary focus is to have craftable weapons that you can actively upgrade to gain new abilities as you progress. I am keen to continue pushing more updates in the future until I run out of ideas, hit a wall with my capabilities, or life catches up to me.
- 4 Unique comet dungeons found via system navigation
- 4 New demon monsters exclusive to the comet dungeons
- 2 Unique dungeons added to worldgen for certain planets
- (Like…so many) Unique craft-able items, weapons, and armors with varying upgrade paths for players to discover
- Unique abilities and mechanics for different items like charged attacks, situational inputs, and directional inputs for various weapons
- Status effects and buffs to give players an edge in combat
To begin, craft yourself a Soulkeeper Hourglass and place it. This is your shop front, used to purchase starting weapons, Spardan Workstation, and the Soulquartz Workstation. Purchase these workstations, and you can get to crafting and upgrading your gear for bigger hunts. Travel different systems and keep your eye out for elemental comets. If you spot one, you can challenge it for a chance to collect Soul Orbs, elemental drops, and other treasures you won’t want to miss out on.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of updating this mod, some of your items may break when I push an update and need to be re-acquired to work properly. Especially items that were acquired through cheating if the recipes did not exist in-game, as these items in the files are likely WIP, and prone to updates. I will try to keep these item-breaking updates to a minimum unless performing a major overhaul of key systems.
All items in this mod, however, are subject to change to facilitate bug-fixes and to maintain a certain level of quality. Balancing, file allocation, and overall feel of gameplay are my top priority.
Any major issues that arise can be discussed in the BugReport section above Comments. If I break something and [dropping the item to be picked back up] or [re-crafting the item] can’t fix, let me know about it there.
For the full experience, I recommend Futara’s Fullbright Shader mod to make the shiny parts of the armors shine properly. Of note, you’ll need to download the mod and place it directly into your mod directory, as it is not in .pak format:

A big help in achieving costume swapping for this mod is LowPoly, who released a similar mod that applies armor loadouts when equipping specific weapons. It can be found here:
Loadout Fuser
- LowPoly (made the transformation techs work and makes pretty cool stuff)
- Nebulox (for player-homing projectile physics and general advice)
- Kiero Ashkore (for helping with testing and generally dealing with my constant brainstorming and providing feedback)
- [Unverified] As of 11/26/2024: Unsheathe/Ready Animation [FU/FR] (Appears to break melee weapons with unique LUA values, specifically mentioned: DemonicSword upgrades, but likely branches to other weapons due to the fact I based a lot of my upgrades on the DemonicSword3. I’m guessing it may have something to do with the animated parts of the weapons when they’re activated clashing with the code that draws them. DemonicSword3 and DemonicSword4 both have animations that play when they’re swung. I pulled the code more or less directly from vanilla weapons, so it may also happen with things like Violium Broadsword.)
