Description:

Release Version 3/28/2018

Features:

This is a lightweight script mod that ensures that your Mortal Empires campaign will always end in a faceoff between large, lore accurate empires rather than a cleanup of a thousand minor factions and beastmen ruins. This mod uses scripts to distinguish between major, secondary and minor factions, and then to modify the autoresolve chances when those factions interact. The system works as follows:

  • Major factions gain autoresolve bonuses when fighting minor ones
  • Secondary factions gain no bonuses, but Major factions gain no bonuses against them.
  • When the player is involved or nearby to an engagement, the system is disabled.
  • As a result, major factions will create powerful empires.
  • Secondary factions, however, won’t simply kneel over and die, but will instead remain challenges for the major factions.

In practice, this system helps major factions expand into powerful and challenging Empires, while keeping secondary factions mostly alive. The images attached on this mod are from multiple tests using Crynsos Autorun and seeing what kind of nations the AI is capable of building. The results are, in my opinion, quite impressive!

You can see the full faction lists here!

Development and Compatability

This mod is 100% compatible with almost anything. [/b] It does rely on faction keys, however, so it might not work in total conversion mods (such as War of the Beard).

This mod is fully compatible with both Crynsos Faction Unlocker, and Celtik’s Advanced AI. In fact, I highly recommend using it alongside Celtik’s AI to get the full challenge of powerful AI factions .

Second of all, while this mod will technically work in Vortex Campaigns, it has not been tested in them and it’s secondary faction lists might be incomplete for those campaigns. I will improve on this in time.

This mod is largely based on work done by Mitch in this Rome II mod. I ported the features directly from that mod, updated the commands to work in the Warhammer II engine, updated the factions list, and added the secondary factions features.
