Description:

In May 1968, through the foreign trade company NIKEX and the East German company Transportmaschinen Export-Import, the BKV ordered 16 three-part HÉV motor trains from VEB Lokomotivbau-Elektrotechnische Werke “Hans Beimler” (LEW) in Hennigsdorf.
The MXA is an enhanced version of the MX type. The MX series arrived at BKV in 1971, and the MXA vehicles arrived between 1975-1983.
