Chosen Armor
As the WOTC campaign progresses, the Chosen advance through four different phases, each slightly changing the visual look of their armor. This mod makes all these variants available as regular armor pieces for male and female XCOM soldiers. Mod content is 100% visual only, no gameplay changes. All armor pieces are available from the beginning of the campaign, applicable to all the default armors.
All armor pieces are separated into their proper categories. Warlock vambrace and claw are separated even further to two different combinations. Assassin helmet includes floaty physics for the "hair". I chose to not restrict torso deco placements, so even nonsensical combinations (like hunter grapple in both arms) are possible.
Additionally, for each Chosen, vanilla and GrimStyle tintable variants are available. The tintable versions use the phase 3 armor types.
A bonus "worn" variant of the phase 1 armors is also available. This armor style is used in the Chosen death scenes.
The armor pieces were created by modifying the available Chosen assets included in the XCOM 2 WOTC SDK.
You’ll need the X2WOTCCommunityHighlander for proper naming of torso and legs parts in the equipment screen.
You’ll also need empty parts addons (for example Empty WOTC Deco Slots for XCOM Soldiers (+ Some other empty things) and [WOTC] Invisible Parts For Hero Units) or Unrestricted Customization to prevent torso decos being stuck.
- Where is warlock waistguard for phase 1?
The Warlock has only a simple belt in phase 1, which is already included in the torso. - Can you remove…
The goal of this mod is to provide every variant of the Chosen armor as equippable armor, even at the expense of bloated equipment selection. You can edit the ini files to hide any pieces you dont need. - Can you add tintable versions of the phase 1/2/4 armors?
Possibly in the future as a complementary mod.
- Hair is allowed with the warlock headpiece, but most hairstyles will clip through the helmet.
- Some clipping in the neck areas might be visible when rapidly rotating your soldier in the equipment screen. This clipping is not present in actual combat.
- The vertex weights required great deal of manual editing, and still aren’t perfect, so some armor pieces might "float" or otherwise move erratically with soldier movement. Let me know in the comments if you find any glaring errors.
- The armor pieces are not guaranteed to work without clipping with other mods and/or the vanilla armors, with the exception of the Warlock torso, which should work with the default arms. As people might want to try crazy armor combinations, I didn’t want to restrict the selection just to guarantee no clipping.
- Hair fallbacks for warlock (and possibly assassin) helmet
- More body part separation for customization enthusiast, by default commented out in the inis
You may use the assets in this mod in your XCOM 2 mods without my permission. Credits are appreciated, and I’d also be interested to know what kind of mods you’d be using the assets with.
The armor pieces are modified from XCOM 2 assets, so any usage outside the XCOM 2 workshop would probably be unwise.
