Battlefield Chaos
This is a small mod that has the following effects:
1. It doubles base random weight of negative battle events for commanders and knights (captured, wounded, maimed, killed, or got head ripped off by a berserker).
2. Prowess reduces chance of negative effects by 1% per point (down fron 2.5% or 3.3% in the unmodded game).
3. Expands the range of potential named killers to include enemy knights with 50% of the victim’s Prowess (down from 80%). This effect is mostly cosmetic.
All that together makes a character with 50 prowess as threatened on the battlefield as a character with 0 prowess would be in the unmodded game. The battlefield is now a much deadlier place for characters to be and not even the greatest warriors are safe.
If that doesn’t appeal to you and you’d rather have skilled warriors be safer than normal my Battlefield Safety mod does just that.
It’s possible I may have missed some instances where Prowess is checked. If so please let me know in the comments so that I can figure out what went wrong and fix the mod.
The mod modifies three files:
– events/war_events/combat_events.txt
– events/war_events/commander_events.txt
– events/war_events/knight_events.txt
It should be compatible with any mod that doesn’t modify the same files. In any case you will not be able to get achievements.
